  1. Here's an in-depth explanation of them. It's a new, redesigned blank.
  2. I didn’t say anything about backlash. Same imo, no way a TWS reel can cause an over run.
  3. Why would a TWS equipped reel cause backlash? I would say it's definitely not the Daiwa reel causing it.
  4. Even though the hook small and has a short shank, it is thicker wire and you should not use a ML spinning rod. The lightest I go with that jig is an extra fast 2 or 3 power Loomis JWR casting rod. If you want to got to a ML spinning rod, go with the Bitsy Bug, not the Bitsy Flip.
  5. For what you described, I'd go 4 power in Dobyns.
  6. I bought them all together during a sale. The blanks are really nice, but none of the rest of them were for me. I really don't like the foam fore grip, or semi-micro guides. I also don't like the way the company is run. Just my opinion. The LMH had a weird taper too.
  7. I had three Kistler Helium rods, all sold. I bought them for around $225 ea on sale before the prices skyrocketed. I wouldn't pay more than that if I were you.
  8. None for me, I hardly ever throw a crankbait, but if I do I'll still use a leader. I use braid to leader for everything; except I'll use straight braid with frogs, and when the water is really dirty.
  9. These are the strongest, easiest to use clips. https://www.tackledirect.com/tactical-anglers-power-clips.html?mainc=TAC-0022
  10. This really annoys me. They also got rid on tons of Cabelas’s brand gear that was really well designed, and at great prices.
  11. I used my Curado 70 K my last three trips. It’s one of the easiest casting reels I’ve ever used. I have zero issues with it, it does everything well. It looks and feels right at home on my Loomis 852 JWR. It’s a perfect combo with 20lb 832 loaded on the reel. IMHO it’s a beautiful looking reel.
  12. Go to any China Town and you will see tanks with LMB in them at every fish seller. It's a very common dish.
  13. I have the 842 MBR too. It's not as versatile as the 852 JWR. I don't think the 842 has a fast enough tip for hook sets with jigs, and t-rigs. It is a great rod for all light moving baits though.
  14. The IMX-Pro 852 JWR is a very versatile rod. It's the best shaky head, underspin (belly weighted hook style), light t rig/jig rod I have ever used. Highly recommend it.
  15. I'm all braid to leader on everything. I love it. I bring a bunch of filler spools of FC, Copoly, and mono and change leaders as needed, or go straight braid. Both spinning and casting.
  16. Any size Rapala Husky Jerk. They all are excellent baits.
  17. Loading great on my iPhone, super clean looking.
  18. $100.00 for the combo. Looks like Shimano went cheapo.
  19. This is the first I’ve heard of Nasci reels not being great. The two I have are smoother reeling than my Ci4+. most reviews I see online are glowing too. I had three Symmetry reels, one of which started to bind up. They were solid reels otherwise.
  20. I said the two fish ran away when the braid rubbed the log. Not sure what you are talking about.
  21. One day I was fishing fallen timber with jigs, and a 20lb FC leader. I broke off, and tied direct to braid. I saw two fish checking my jig out, and as I pulled the braid over the log I heard it kind of squeak and watched the bass immediately swim away scared. It happened two times in about 20min. I put the leader back and caught more fish. Not sure if braid running through the water can have an affect, but I would say sometimes braid rubbing on object can have an affect.
  22. Tatula rods are much more sensitive than Dobyns Fury or Sierra rods to me.
  23. What will the difference be between the Scorpion and K 70 reels?
  24. Seems like I will have to handle one with a reel on it to really know. Thanks for the opinions.
