  1. I have the older style. They are excellent gear.
  2. Daiwa Tatula 150 with a Tatula 6'10" MH rod. It;s a sweet setup and great for tons of stuff. Find the 150 for sale for $109 and you will dig it.
  3. Usually 30lb braid straight, or 15lb mono or fluorocarbon leader added. The leader may go up to 17-20 depending on the cover, but never below 15lb.
  4. I fish a lot of medium heavy to sparse fallen trees, and fully submerged timber. I always use braid to leader because I don't like the way braid drags over the trees underwater. It digs in a little and makes a weird sound that I have seen spook bass. The mono or fluoro will slide right over the branches more easily, and is more abrasion resistant. I love dragging and dancing jigs through trees with braid to leader, it's so sensitive. I primarily use 30lb braid to 15-20lb leader. Hope another opinion helps you out.
  5. Tatula Lt 1000! i have both Stradic Fk 1000 and the Tat 1000. I prefer the Daiwa, but both are nice.
  6. Found it. It's called Living Image Copper Craw. Thx
  7. No consistency even in the same models
  8. Does anyone know what color this Original Chatterbait is. It's light greenish skirt with dark brown/black vertical stripes and copper flecks with a black blade. I've been killing with these the last two weeks with my favorite swimbait as a trailer, a 5" Cabela's Swim Minnow in the bluegill color.
  9. I am a big fan of the Tatula LT spinning reels. I have a bunch of them. the bodies between the 2000, 2500 and 3000 are only slightly different in size. My suggestion would be to get the 3000 shallow spool version for a medium light/medium rod. The 3000 shallow spool version (TA LT3000-CXH) has the same line capacity as the 2000, but has a wider spool, it's ideal for 10-15lb braid. I use my 2000 LT's with 8-10lb braid and it's a better match. Fantastic reels. There's no right /wrong. some people like smaller reels, some larger.

I've never stopped using the BlackGrape 8" Jelly Worm. It's a nice deep blue color. It's worked for almost 40 years, why stop.
  11. Nice job! What is that handle? My old Abu handles are not long enough. How long is that ripper you have on there?
  12. Thorne Bros Tatula 150 sale! https://www.thornebros.com/products/daiwa-tatula-150
  13. Daiwa Tatula 150 or 200. They are powerhouse reels for a great price. Check out this price too! $109 !!!!! https://www.sportsmansoutfitters.com/products/daiwa-tatula-150-baitcast-fishing-reel?_pos=1&_sid=7eb1768b3&_ss=r
  14. I think you mean 783C MBR, That's loomis speak for 6'6" or 843C MBR would be the 7' version in that line. The 3 power rods in loomis rods are the business. I carry three 3 power rods and one 4 power rod in my boat. The 3 power MBR rods are my all time favorite rods. Great for everything but the heaviest stuff. I live and fish around Chicago, Michigan, Wisconsin so I'm not fishing the heaviest stuff in the world for 15lb bass, The 3 power is excellent for jigs/t-rigs in timber/brush, top water, swim jigs, jerk baits, swimbaits like Kietechs on belly weighted hooks, Chatter baits, spinner baits, square bills, Lipless and just about everything else you will need most of the time. IMO you can't go wrong with any 3 power MBR rod, you will always find a use for it.
  15. If you want to spend up to $220 I highly recommend Kistler Helium 3 because they are on sale for $219 right now through the Kistler site. I have a 7' heavy that is an unbelievably great rod. It's NOT tip heavy, very sensitive, and has an excellent taper. I don't fish over 7' because I'm very sensitive to tip heavy rods. That's my other 2 cents which brings me up to 4 cents now.
  16. Zoom Super Chunk, for an action style chunk I love the Paca Come on dude, don't give up on the idea of a chunk! we have to use something. ?
  17. Not on your list but a heavy Daiwa Tatula rod would be right in your budget and are super sweet rods.
  18. It's a tough one to answer. Sometimes rods by the same company, but different series may feel quite different. In addition comparing different companies makes it even more difficult to determine ratings. For example I have a 6'6" Fenwick Walleye series rod that I use for bass that I completely love. The action on it feels like a medium rod from Daiwa or Loomis, and the taper feels almost Extra Fast, but is rated as a ML fast action rod. It's a fantastic bass rod. I bought it wanting a little bit lighter rod, but really dig it as is. Buying before handling will sometimes reveal some unexpected results.
  19. PM me what you have, I may be interested.
  20. From experience? What is the difference of the two?
  21. Hello Has anyone ever used the G Loomis Popping Rods (PR 884c or 842c ) for bass fishing? I believe they are designed for saltwater flats fishing. I am not sure what the different in the taper would be from an MBR taper. Any experience is welcomed.
  22. There aren’t, you are correct.
  23. I does! Might be the action? type of rod? Design? Who knows why?
  24. I really wanted to like the LTB series. They look great, have nice components, and are really nicely assembled but every one I’ve tried or owned was so tip heavy I wasn’t able to fish them for too long. Maybe it’s all that blue paint on them, maybe the blank? Who knows. now my Legend Walleye ML spinning rod is the opposite. Great balance and comfort for long days. Great reel seat, taper, and sensitivity. one of the best fishing rods I have.
