  1. I'm 100% positive what I would do and that's just toss the whole dang thing. The line that is. Fishing line is "cheap" compared to everything else. I wouldn't want to risk breaking off a PB or anything really nice on it.
  2. Thanks those look good. I think I'm leaning towards 5" - 6" for the bluegill. Living in Iowa and the places I fish don't scream "big swimbaits" like some other fisheries. And yes, I'm SUPER EXCITED for the rat. I can say with about 99.9% confidence that this is a lure "my" bass have never seen before. Hopefully it doesn't fail me like the d**n whopper plopper. Another bait I was super excited for.
  3. I wouldn't want to fish a wacky worm on an UL rod for starters. But if what you say is true, you aren't even getting a "bite", that isn't your main issue. Something is just off. If you took a poll of bass fisherman, the wacky might be at the top of the list for "Not getting skunked lures". Ned rig might be #1 followed closely by the wacky. How deep of water are you fishing? Water clarity? Fishing from shore?
  4. I'm sure everyone else is like me where you can't wait to see what lure they threw in there. It's like Xmas.
  5. I'd have to guess you are also fine. I bet you get an email tomorrow or so. Once FedEx gets the package it doesn't take too long to receive.
  6. Someone asked for an update so here it is. I placed my order from JLS on 8/16. They were on holiday until 8/22. I just got an update that the FedEx label was just created. If the 8/29 deadline does actually happen, I should be "A-OK". With that said, if anyone is ordering now, I'd be prepared to pay extra. They are processing orders via first come first serve so there are still plenty of orders placed behind me. Almost a weeks worth.
  7. Oh jeepers, where do I even start. There's so many.
  8. Am I understanding this correct? You fish with the rod, at the end of the day you put it away in your rod locker. The next time you go fishing you get the rod out and the line is broke? That's pretty crazy and makes no sense.
  9. Got the 2 piece. 3 piece looks great but maybe a little too big for these parts.
  10. Yeah I started my own little list of what looked good as well as a decent price before I started this thread. Had the Bull Gill, G Dash, Vatalion.
  11. I’ve tried finding that Shell Cracker before and saw it isn’t made anymore. Seemed to have good reviews I wasn’t expecting to buy something as expensive as I just did so I figure I’ll only buy one more swimbait this season which will most likely be a bluegill profile. I still need to stock up on other baits for the fall. I told my wife I made an order and how much it was. Little does she know it’s just one bait vs about 15 or so. lol
  12. PB Rat ordered. Haven't been this excited since Christmas of ‘87.
  13. The heck with it, I’m going to buy the rat. I stayed up way too late last night watching YouTube and watched some pretty cool rat fishing videos. It will be the most expensive lure I’ve ever purchased.
  14. What company? Could be a good deal. But at the same time it could bite you in the arse and actually pay more than the original price if they don’t ship it right away and get hit with a tariff.
  15. Dang those PB Rats are like $130. My wife would kill me. If she ever found out. LOL
  16. Looks like you’ve gone down the rabbit hole, lol. What are your favorites out of that list?
  17. Can you do me a big favor? I'd LOVE to know how much that weighs fully stocked like that. Thing is a beast!
  18. Thanks. Looks like they have a really lifelike looking hardbait as well. The Gillroid. There's a lot of good LOOKING baits, the problem is you just never know how they will perform in the water.
  19. The majority of my big fish this year have come in the dark. I enjoy it. What I don't enjoy though lately is fishing in oppressive levels of humidity. Therefore I haven't done much in the last 3-4 weeks sadly.
  20. Any swimbait guys here? I caught my very first fish on a glidebait Friday morning and the monkey wants MORE. My rod I have is rated for 3/4-3.5 ounces. What are some good hard swimbaits that fit that size category? I guess soft as well, but I'm mostly thinking hard as I already have a couple of Magdrafts. I'm also thinking more of a bluegill shape vs shad as most of the lakes I fish don't even have shad. THANKS!
  21. HOLY COW that's very similar to my first tackle box I bought myself. Oh the memories!!! Except mine had two drawers that slid out on the bottom, if I remember correctly. If I had to guess, I bought it in the late 80's. I backed over it in my first car, two toned blue station wagon and busted it up. Took out a couple of fishing poles as well.
  22. I have some, NEVER thrown them. Maybe once, not sure. Water gets cold this fall I'm breaking one out. Gosh I can't wait for the fall.
