I have a couple of "sun" shirts. One was expensive that I love. One my wife bought me that was on the cheaper side. They don't even compare. Seems to be much thicker and doesn't breathe as good.

What buzzbait do you throw? I only have one and it's 1/2 oz and I'm just not a fan of it. I think I'd much prefer what you are throwing. Oh, one last thing. GO HAWKS!!!!!!!

No expert, but the wind scatters the light which allows them maybe to roam around more to feed. Rather than do it early morning or in the evening. Wind also disturbs aquatic life. Little things that attract small things that attract bigger things...

Line twist is a problem with flukes correct? I bought a bag at least 15 years ago and tried it once and caught a smallmouth on it. Not sure why I stopped throwing them. Still have the bag and I've thrown them on the back of spinnerbaits as a trailer, seems to work well.

You don't like those things do you? Seems like your livewell always has green bass in it. LOL

I might be looking for another P5. Maybe for topwater, poppers and spooks. Never thrown the Shower Blows but seems very popular now. I already have the OneTen Special that I tried for poppers but it’s got floro on it. Tied a braid leader to it but it he whole setup wasn’t ideal. Not really sure if I want to buy the same pole twice. IDK, I’m really scratching to spend some money before the fall gets here.

Much of what’s being discussed here I believe is just flat out bad information. China doesn’t care about quality control? LMAO Whatever factory is building gadget X, is given certain tolerances. I can about guarantee those tolerances are met once gadget X leaves the factory. WHO DO YOU THINK GIVES THEM THE TOLERANCES? You think Apple has their products and components built in factories that do not care about quality control? Or do not have the necessary equipment to control the quality? C’mon get “reel”. Companies come out with different products at different price points. High end products are going to be built with better materials and tighter tolerances. You expect a $60 reel to look the same as a $500 reel? The Chinese factory is building EXACTLY what the American company is telling them and paying them to build. If you don’t like the quality, blame the company you bought the product from. Most likely, spend more money. PS before you jump down my throat, I’m a diehard patriot that would love to give the middle finger to China and have all products made in the USA. But that isn’t going to happen.

Well worst outing of the year. Caught 2 bass and 2 crappie. I’d say visibility was 6”. Still Better than sitting at home. Hoping to learn from it.

Just got off work and plan on going fishing. However I haven’t even thought about where I’m going and what lures to fish. The main two lakes are going to be pretty dirty from all of the recent rain. Right now there’s also a decent breeze. I’m wondering, if the water is already fairly dirty, does the added breeze change what I should throw? What would you bring as far as baits and colors? I’m definitely bringing a swim jig with a bulky paddletail and a spinnerbait. I’ve got some jackhammers if those would be better, just haven’t thrown them much. As I type this I’ve realized I need a better tackle system. Normally I just pack my soft bag with lures I think I’ll use for the day. If the water conditions are not as I planned, I’m SOL and stuck with what I packed. I need to be able to bring a greater variety of baits in my truck and then be able to switch if needed. I’m in a kayak so I’m limited to what I can take. I can and normally take 8 rods though. THANKS

I have a lake that is a little more than 10 minutes away. There will be times where I'll just feel like going on a little ride and see what the water is like. Sometimes it can get really weedy and/or dirty and it's always nice to gather intel before a longer outing. So I'll throw a rod or two without even any intention of catching a fish. The other day I threw a rod with a buzzbait and caught a couple bass. It was so blasted hot it only lasted 30 minutes and then I was ready to leave. Better than sitting on the couch.

6 ft rod for trolling trout? Seems pretty short. What lures and how deep are you fishing? Is this rod JUST for this type of fishing?

Wow, that's a lot of good fish. Had to have been a blast. Yeah basically, I was just trying to envision the area. For example, the deepest part of the lake was 15 feet. But the weeds were in 10 foot of water. It's one of the things I've been thinking about. Let's say it's really hot out. There's shallow water, say three feet that is fully shaded. There's 10 foot of water, that has submerged weeds. There's 15 foot of water with really no cover. I've been wondering if I was a bass, where would I go.

Much nicer temps here in Iowa and no rain finally. But all the water looks like Folgers, no cream or sugar.

Sounds like a good week. How was the size? How deep of water were you fishing in relation to water that didn't hold weeds? Hope that made sense.

Because after the first big birds nest that kinks it all up he will need to replace it. That was my learning experience.

That jig has had some good use. Nice fish but isn't that a walleye?

One thing you learn very quickly in fishing, there are different grades of fluoro on the market. Get the best you can afford.
