  1. Baits take a TON of time to make, not to mention all the expensive material you need. Beautiful lures, though.
  2. I don't use snaps. When fishing lures like poppers which I feel require more movement, then I'll tie a King Sling knot. This gives the bait more range of motion and doesn't unbalance it like a swivel does. Only time I'll ever use swivels is with a double fluke rig.
  3. Don't I know it! I originally lived in Ohio, and 45 degrees is nothing there.
  4. Yesterday in NC it was cold and raining. Perfect for fishing! I ended up catching my fish on a swim jig and a white buzzbait.
  5. Where do pond bass go during the winter? Would they go in the shallows or the deep portions in the middle? Kind of a stupid question, but every cast counts!
  6. Welcome to Bassresource! Good bass down there, I hear!
  7. I thought the weatherman would change it at the last second, like they always do, but this ending is better!
  8. I think it would be cool to start diving. Some people on youtube always seem to find nice stuff!
  9. Since I wear glasses, I bought myself a pair of clip-ons. I never understood why anyone needs polarized lenses above $40!
  10. It's a bluegill! They can catch the big ones if you are into live bait fishing.

  12. I've had both a bass and a trout jump over a low hanging branch when hooked. The bass, I got. Unfortunately, the trout managed to get off. It's moments like these that keep me fishing!
  13. I'd prefer to keep it on top of the car (I'm not sure if some kayaks use trailers). It'd be nice to be able to fish it in both ponds and lakes, but not rivers. I don't have much experience in rivers, and there aren't many smallies down South. Thank you guys for your help!

  15. What stand up kayaks would you guys recommend? I'd like one with the foot pedals as well. Thank you!

  17. When my brother and I were little, we dangled this tiny spinner right above the scum and watched the frogs swarm it. I have to try that again 'cause it was a blast!
  18. If he was hardcore enough, he could use the liver for catfish... ? I'm glad you guys had a good time.
  19. Do the speed of the lure flying at my face when I set the hook on a rock.
  20. I've only hooked myself once, and that was by doing something stupid. I'm not sure if I've told this story on the forums before, so bear with me. So I had just bought myself my first whopper plopper and started fishing it around the little brush piles in my neighborhood pond. Wham! Huge blowup, and I reeled in my biggest out of that pond, about four pounds. I thought it'd be a great idea to try to unhook this fish, which is still going crazy, with my bare fingers. I get the first treble hook out, and then all of the sudden I'm hooked to this big fish. By the way, it's got one of those bad hooksets where it closes their mouth. After getting the fish off, I walk home with this lure hanging off one of my fingers. Let me tell you, I got some weird looks from passing joggers! I ended up cutting the hook and pulling it out. Since then, I carry pliers and ALWAYS use them on fish caught with treble hooks. Funny thing is, it wasn't even that deep!

  22. I live right near Charlotte, and have been catching fish on faster moving lures like a buzzbait and a spinnerbait.
  23. Whopper Ploppers are decent baits! I rarely use buzzbaits now.
