  1. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks good!
  2. Welcome!
  3. NC, TN, SC, and Ohio!
  4. I already took the stuff out, but just went on a quick buying run.
  5. I always go fish the tourney location the day before. I usually like to find spots on Google Maps as well.
  6. I am only 5 9 and I use a 6'8 rod whenever I bank fish. I learned how to to a backhand cast, which really helps in close corners.
  7. I just recently bought a 7 foot Berkley Lightning Rod paired with an Abu Garcia Silver Max. It's a lot cheaper than your price range and it's a good pair up. I would recommend not getting combos because even though they seem like a good price usually you will get either a good reel or a good rod.
  8. ^^ This. I have 30 pound test Seaguar smackdown on one of my baitcasters for frogs and I love it! Got it for 20 dollars when Gander Mtn was going out of business.
  9. I have always used two hands when casting with a baitcaster except when I'm pitching or flipping.
  10. I've always just used a microwave
  11. I want to fish down here in NC, but all the ponds I fish are frozen over! I'm getting cabin fever down here...
  12. After a close call with the undertow, I made sure to learn how to swim. I also live right next to a pool, and swim there during the summers.
  13. I hope everything turns out all right
  14. I like to fish whopper ploppers, but one leaf and that cast is over!
  15. I love topwater blowups, but my favorite lure has to be a jig!
  16. I used to live in Ohio, and man are you right about that wind! I'd get seasick every time we went out 'cause the waves were so big!
  17. I always keep at least one click on the brake because although I know that I could throw lures without brakes, I'm not a fan of picking out backlashes!
  18. In the ponds near me, we already have 2 inches of ice. Otherwise, I'd be out fishing! The worst time of the year is when the ice is too thin to walk on but widespread enough that I can't find open water ?
  19. I do watch a few fishing channels, just to see what they were catching them on and get an overall better knowledge of the sport. I have learned a lot of things from youtube including the ned rig, neko rig, and other finesse techniques. I don't watch some youtubers because I find them obnoxious and petty, but I do feel that my overall knowledge of the sport is much improved. My dad got me into fishing, but I had to learn the sport by myself and youtube helped with that.
  20. I play several brass instruments, including french horn (double and single), trumpet, mellophone, and cornet.
  21. What a TANK! Congrats!
