  1. Happy Thanksgiving to ALL! One of the many things I have to be thankful is BR as a great source of information and for introducing me to some life long friends that share my passion for bass fishing. Thanks!
  2. 4 to 6 at the ready at all times, with favorite presentations for the day have at least a backup in the locker.
  3. I'd trade it in for an open fisherman.
  4. Actually Dwight, you are my secret weapon, I usually find them right before you come down! Don't forget my DAIWA!
  5. On what type of boat? I aske because some of the older fuel tanks tend to crack and leak. I had a similar issue with my Ranger at first and apparently some spilled into the bilge when changing out the fuel filter. I ended up cleaning the entire engine with yamaha engine cleaner and washing it down and running gallons of water with degreaser through bilge system and smelll went away. Also when storing boat make sure your engine is not tilted, carbs tend to leak at times.
  6. I will have some backstrap please, nice shoot!
  7. Ditto for me fellas! We wished for some higher water boy did we get it! On a side note the DUCK HUNTING IS INCREDIBLE!
  8. Too funny! Or you can just say I was getting the weeds out of the prop!
  9. exactly! some have used ATF but it is bad for seals. You need to bleed system when adding fluid if done right. MESSY!
  10. This describes my brother, LOL. I have never seen him be an offender since he was raised right, I guess, but if you cross him then you better watch OUT. I remember "an episode" where a rude fisherman crossed him and it ended up with the offenders' rods thrown over board, a boat boarding, and an a__ kicking, those where the days, if this would have happened in today's time he would have ended up being in jail. To say he has a short fuse is ridiculous, his fuse is equivalent to lighting a flame near an m80 and having it explode, he has calmed down considerably since, but In the end you never know who you are dealing with, so its best to avoid confrontation.
  11. My rudest fisherman encounter took place last year on Lake Okeechobee while bass fishing. I had what I believe was a guide with a client idle slowly about 5 yards in the front of my boat within casting range and then he proceeded to put his trolling motor down about another 50 yards down the line I was fishing. I fished for a little bit and it ate away at me so bad that I returned the favor, the guy didn't seem to mind, so I think he had no clue or didn't think it was rude since it was idle speed, but in 3 foot of water targeting spawners it MATTERS. Needless to say, the lesson I learned was to just ignore it and move, since it is not worth ruining a day on the lake.
  12. Nothing like picking up a nice used boat in great shape! Nice boat Dink!
  13. Shane, I use 4000 series Shimano Symetry RJ for my tree catching buddies. lol. If you go too thick on the braid with spinning gear the casting distance suffers dramatically, so 40bl test braid will suffice. I really like Star Rods, they are a local company and make a quality blank, I use the discountinued Nickelite and have a couple of Plasma series, but the Stellar Lite series for spinning rods is excellent, look for deals you can get them for about $90 and the reels for about the same. As far as rod action Med-Hvy to Hvy right at 7'. http://www.seastriker.com/starrods/index.html http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/reels/spinning.html
  14. I like the light saber laser and that toilet bowl coffee mug!
  15. I have both a Minn Kota and a Motorguide, both 24v higher end models with about same amount of thrust and both work fine, the Motorguide is relatively new. I have a couple of issues with the Minn Kota and the Motorguide, but both are great. I think it is a Ford vs. Chevy deal.
  16. Nice video footage, and I know that place
  17. Agreed, took out a neighbor's son and we had a great time, we caught a few and had a nice one smash the SPRO. The point is that the experience of fishing is sometimes as equally rewarding as the catching of fish.
  18. Was able to get out today, twice! Had a morning session with Mike and let's just say you can only feed at the Hawg Trough so long..... Below is a picture of canal that goes for thousands of yards like this (overhangs, pads, grass, dead heads, and coves). Just put the trolling motor on medium and make precision cast the entire time, with moving lure of choice. After a while you become an efficient casting, pitching machine, too bad it was't catching, but fishing
  19. Mike and I, team Hawgtech, went out yesterday morning with Captain Steve Daniels to do a little fishing and testing of the Hawg Handle prior to taping his weekly radio show. The wind made us change plans and launched on the North end instead of Clewiston. After the morning session and the recording studio, Mike and I stopped and fished the Everglades, and put a hurting on Bertha! Our five biggest went over 30lbs again with Mike's biggest being a 7 1/4lber, I ,once again was only catching 5lbers with him on the boat. Get more details on our Blog via the www.hawgtech.com website.

It always amazes me the aggression those bass have eating those BIG'OL swimbaits, glad you and your little one had a good time!
  21. Hope you are referring to Mike, ! He goes about 6'1" and is a BIG DUDE, so yeah the BASS pictured is big. Mike and I figured that HAWG would go over 10 1/2 in a month or so for the spawn.
  22. Camping, you can stay in the pool house. LOL!
  23. Went fishing today with my friend, Brett, and his father Rocky to try and replicate the pattern Mike and I were on this past Wednesday. At first we weren't very successful , 2 dinks in an hour, but around 11 A.M. it was on! Our 5 largest went over 30lbs again, brought some of the bigger ones back to my pond.
  24. LB- anything over 10lbs, want a teener before I die though, after 65 I guess I will start using live bait. SM-anything over 7lb, hope to catch an 8 with Dwight
  25. Try asking what Bob Lusk's opinion is I know he has posted before and answered some management questions for me.
