Duck Season Opener
Gotta love Lake Okeechobee, not only is it one of the premier bass hot spots on the planet, its a phenomenal duck hunting ground. Limited out quickly on the first two days of duck season with a mixed bag of Mottled, Blue and Green Winged Teal, and some ring necks. If you look closely you can see the lab in the background exhausted resting his head on the bench seat.

Bullet 20 Xrd
The great Bullet experience has come to an end, didn't really like the way the boat behaved at speed, plus the way the top deck flexed due to it being a comp hull and my partner said it beat the heck out of him on Lake Okeechobee compared to my....18' 6" Ranger! So we traded it in on a boat that is more along the lines of what I wanted to get in the first place, its a 21' 10" Bullet RDC Coastal Edition boat, which is a smooth riding, fast handling, heck of a fishing platform! We will basically swap all accessories including the motor over to this hull from the existing Bullet. Here is the link to the boat we are getting. http://www.lawrenceburgmarine.com/index.php?option=com_rdautos&view=detail&id=23:bullet-boats-21rdc-21-dual-console-coastal&Itemid=116

Lake Okeechobee In The Fall
Was out this week slayed them, got into a school of 2-4 pound chunkers. Bass are on nest though and females are hard to come by in the murky water, need to flip the thick stuff, but it was too much fun catching footballs on frogs!

Lake Okeechobee In The Fall
Lake is booming, find the clear water, pencil and kissimmee grass with hard white bottom and you have arrived at bass fishing Nirvana. The wind this past week has most likely dirtied up the areas I was fishing along the east and west walls, but my fishing partner has had success fishing the grass just south of J&S and have heard some numbers are being caught off little grassy, but again with the recent winds water turbidity might have changed that. Looks like lake has settle around 13 3/4" so areas that were high and dry about a month and half ago are flooded. I am going to try to get out this coming week after all the weekend warriors and tournament fishermen have left the water.

Why College Is A Waste Of Money
I would venture to say that the 2nd choice is the better of the two, but it can easily be argued that the payroll manager doesn't have the skill set to understand what is actually being done by the programmer so would the payroll manager would be clueless as to what the programmer is doing, thus answer 1. Problem with the question is that it assumes the programmer is unethical. "The question should have read if an unethical programmer is revamping the software...."

Why College Is A Waste Of Money
I know of no reputable accountant without a college degree, so stick to it. When you are done with your degree and have a real job hand your teacher a note that reads "Those who can, do; those who can't, teach" "How's that for hard knocks?"

Up In Smoke
After trying my buddy's Quantum PT Smoke 100 SPT and being impressed with its casting distance and drag power I decided I'd give it a shot to hold a spot in my quiver, so I ended up buying a Smoke 100 SPT and a Smoke Rod w/micro guides while in GA for a hunting trip, I will review the outfit soon, as its going to be pitted head to head to a Dobyn's Champion 735 and a Skeet Reese Model Revo for Okeechobee bassing with popping frogs! Does anyone on here have this particular outfit or combination of. Smoke 100PTS 6.3:1 Reel Smoke 7'4" Heavy Action X-Fast Action I am not a Quantum fan in general and have really had horrible luck with the Boca and Cabo series spinning reels as well as some older casting reels years ago, I hope that I made the right decision if not it will be listed on the Flea Market soon!

Lake Okeechobee Water Level
Are the McMillians targeting Dyess ditch and Horse Island still? I believe I remember an interview with either one of them or another FLW local that said if you know the historic travel and bedding grounds you have the lake pretty much figured out during prespawn, spawn and post spawn, its just being where the big fish are and that is the W / NW side.

Lake Okeechobee Water Level
So after all the rains and the 100 year event in the Kissimee Basin I think we will be close to 14, it was 13.72 this morning and rising about .06/day or close to 3/4 inch a day now, but not sure it can be sustained much longer. I was hoping to see mid 14s to sustain us through the dry winter months. Duck and bass like the shallows, by the way the lake is incredibly right now if you can get back to them, buddy went out this weekend and slayed them with a 8lber to boot!

Nice fish Shane, glad you had a good time

Big "o"
West Wall, using Skinny Dippers, Frogs, and Trick Worms, but according to others we talked to on the Lake and out on the water the fishing was fantastic everywhere, the Bass Factory was in full swing yesterday in prefrontal conditions. We are lucky to have such a great fishery in close proximity to us.
