  1. This is the way to end the year! We could have limited out really quickly, but kept waiting for some Pintail to come in. Ended up with 5 Ring Necks, 1 Shoveler, 2 Widgeon, and 8 Blue wing teal
  2. I have that dream often! Dock Talk: What were they hitting, where at and what was the predominate pattern. Maybe your "information" may lead me to fish. Good information: Capt. X, go out the third cut, find the first cove and look for the eel grass and arrow heads, flip and pitch a white Hydra and hold on! If the wind is blowing hang on the inside edge and throw spinner-baits around Kissimmee grass. Its up to the fisherman to improvise and go by experience based on Dock talk or valid information.
  3. I agree 100%, Mike and I were discussing the other day how awesome we did on the South side of the lake about 2 months ago. We noticed other fisherman around us that were not doing nearly as well, but we had this one pattern that was limited to a very specific area within the area and tore them up. I will disagree with information mentioned by Gar Tracker, since I still believe that information tends to get someone into a general pattern or area and its up to the fisherman to do the rest.
  4. A Triton will frighten, a Bullet will enlighten
  5. Gotta love them. I went to Brett's birthday party and since his favorite is Key Lime pie he had it as his birthday cake. So as my son took the first bite of his pie/"cake" he looked at Brett with his big brown eyes and said "Brett, this isn't cake!" and shrugged his shoulders implying that he, Brett, was missing out on something. The whole table cracked up!
  6. The Army Corps you can't lose or win. If they don't drain it enough and we have an unusually wet season then who is to blame if the dike fails, if they drain it too much and then we have a drought its a bad scenario as well. Its funny that they tick off the St. Lucie River environmental advocates when they drain the nutrient rich freshwater killing off estuaries, but make Caloosahatchee better by keeping the salt out. I wish they would shift the burden to the farmers by making them have their own water storage solutions and just worry about restoring the natural balance the ecosystem needs as much as humanely possible. Nevertheless, I hope that they can keep it above 12.5 also, but I am not keeping my fingers crossed, since the weather experts can't even make accurate predictions on wind forecast 6 hours in advance.
  7. Stren superbraid was awesome, to bad they discontinued it. Stren line is also great for certain apps.
  8. Yeah, until the tournament boat cast into the airship with a treble hook lure! That's what I would to see if that clown could swim, oops I mean clown fish!
  9. Not what the Vegas odds makers think. Lakers may not be the best team in L.A!
  10. NBA is a team game! Both are great in their own respect, but if you want to watch the best basketball teams in the World play then the NBA is where it is at, not an opinion a fact. As far as some NBA players being primo uomo and acting like the ball and franchise money should belong to them exclusively is another issue, which has led many to shy away, but its still a team game and the better teams will play like that. With that said my top two teams in the East are: 1. Chicago 2. Miami in the West: 1. Oklahoma 2. Memphis The rest of the contenders are the Clippers, Spurs, Lakers and possibly Dallas or Denver. The East only has another threat in the Knicks, but other than that the West is where its at. Some hardcore Boston fans may be offended, but the players are taking Geritol. With that said GO HEAT!
  11. And to you and all also! If you ever run out of things to do between trips, I could use your help around the house especially when it comes to lawn, garden, and house work!
  12. Awesome George! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
  13. 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even bed lice; The rods were prepared with care, In hopes that dawn would soon would be there; The fisherman were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of plump bass danced in their heads; with son in his 'buff headwear, and I in my FSU cap, Had just settled down for a long night's nap, When out in the garage there was a clatter, I jumped from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the garage I flew like a flash, Opened up the door with a strong force. The compartment on the Ranger had fallen closed breaking a guide off my new fishing pole, When, what to my reddened eyes should appear, But Kevin VanDam, and eight brand new reels, With Jimmy Houston driving the Nitro, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be Angler of the Year. More rapid than eagles his sponsors they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name; "Now, Strike King! now, Quantum! now, Humminbird and Mercury! On, Hydrowave! on Mustad! on, Motorguide and Plano! To the Big "O"! To the Lake of the Ozarks! Now plane away! hole-shot away! run away all!" As line cuttings fly, When they meet with some structure, he cast out a lure, So up to the house-top the best fisherman flew, With the a boat full of goodies, and KVD too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard in the garage The laughing and "ol' son" of Martin's voice. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Down the hall came Roland with a bound. He was dressed all in Columbia, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were tarnished with chartreuse and line conditioner; A bundle of traps he had flung on his back, And he looked like a tournament fisherman opening his sack. His eyes -- how they twinkled! His laugh marks were deep! His cheeks were well browned, his nose like a cherry! His grinning mouth was bent like a rod, And the hair of his head was yellow, sunburned; He had a broad face and a sow's belly, That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of senkos. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old liar, With a twist of his visor, He made me know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the Bullet and Ranger compartments; then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his red nose, And giving a nod, out the door he went; He sprang to his boat, to his sponsors gave a whistle, And away they all flew like a Stroker. But I heard him yell "Ol'Son " as he planed out of sight,
  14. Cavern mouth bass= A subspecies of Largemouth bass, caught exclusively by BIG "O"
  15. Yeah forgot to mention what 3 Dees said The FORTEX STICK WAY UP THERE! Passenger can't see anything, not like it matters though.
  16. Depends if the scratches are actually into the lacquer around hook saver or blank, cosmetic lacquer scratches will not weaken blank.
  17. I think the pressure is finally off both teams and they can finally breath! I would not want to be the Packers going into the playoffs with a perfect record, plus now they can rest the starters for the final game! As for the Colts, at least they did not go totally defeated!
  18. 1. Hamby's 2. Keel Guard or Keelshield make sure you have a bead of 5200 placed around the entire protector edge once installed, make it part of the install.
  19. If you can find it get the Maxxum with the lift assist, spoke with a couple of riggers down here before buying the Fortex, and they opinion of the Fortex was not very good compared to the Maxxum, stated that the Fortex is sturdy, but has its issues with deployment at times, and has to many darn parts up front. One of the riggers works for Master Repair the largest Minn Kota Trolling motor service center here in Florida.
  20. Go Denver! My money is on New England though! I despise the Pats, Bills, Jets, Giants, Soxs, Yanks, Nets, Nicks, Celtics, Bruins, Sabers, Rangers, and anyone that plays for or is a fan of a NY or Boston area team! Same goes for Canadian hockey fans!
  21. South FLA replied to roadwarrior's topic in Everything Else
Great person, yes! Great athlete, yes! Great QB, the jury is still out. Denver is playing with the cards it has been dealt, that ace in the bunch is Tebow. Not sure how long he will be successful as an NFL QB, but in his own words he is grateful every time he gets to play QB in the NFL. IMO he is, as someone stated before, a flash in the pan and his longevity is to be questioned. As a hypothetical who would you rather have if you were starting a NFL franchise today Tebow or Ponder, both 1st round draft pics? Why? I would pick Ponder, because he is the prototypical NFL QB and with an O-line and some talent around him he can be a very good QB. I would not pick Tebow, because the offensive system required to make him successful isn't a proven formula in today's NFL
  22. Nothing like having a honey hole right in your backyard! You know you can release a snook or two in there and they will live
  23. Hit me up whenever! Have taken the Bullet out only a hand full of times, but most trips were hit or miss, this time the christening was official though with a deck full of fish slime and some big girls, two of which joined me for the ride home in the livewell system to reside in my canal pond system
  24. I had a Sammy 100 tied on that NEW Sol, Loomis setup, but the darn fish were only taking subsurface lures! Already had a trap tied on my other setup, but "was in the fish" so I could not retie! For all you board members buying flea market items from Bassn, you are in for a treat, the guy must either be obsessive compulsive or not fish his equipment enough!
