  2. Send me a PM. I can show you where to go, fish the lake 4-6 times a month.
  3. Hawging it!
  4. Yes, 832 for sinking baits suffix for topwater.
  5. Don't worry the wait is worth it! Nice bass, I can tell you the East end water looks like Milk Chocolate water, so it is less than stellar. All those guys are fishing outside of Shoal and North end of Dyess Ditch, flipping and pitching just like every other tournament jockey, but they found the spot within the spot. Fishing should get easy/fun (moving baits, not flipping and pitching BORING) as water drops and forces the bass to outside more.
  6. Just be careful, especially on steep ramps, I considered them, but was told by many local saltwater guys that they are too slick! Maybe you could try them on the inside and keep the outside carpeted for friction.
  7. Didn't know the Jets needed a TE....J E T S. suck suck suck
  8. Glad to hear that Brandon is up on top, he is a tough man indeed emotionally!
  9. You're right, too many things to consider. I know that on Saturdays and Sunday during duck and dove season I am usually hunting out of choice, the rest of the year I a fishing. Nevertheless, you have to choose your hobby carefully if not you aren't particularly effective at any. Golf would dominate, but I gave up on it after a frustrating slump years ago.
  10. He caught that MONSTER on a Medium action 7-foot 7-inch Wright & McGill Skeet Reese signature series that old girl must have given him a heck of a pull ! Those are some whippy rods!
  11. Diluted bleach 25% is what one of those crazy Florida alligator guys pours on open wounds immediately, says he has not had infection issues since. Saw it on Discovery Channel. I think though the CANCER may get him in the end.
  12. Shocking or "Electroshocking" is a method of catching fish that fish managers use to sample bodies of water to collect statistics that are then in turn used to measure fishery health. The fish are literally electrocuted with a current that stuns them enough that they can be caught with a net when they surface. Here are some more reading material on shocking for you: http://www.mesc.usgs.gov/products/publications/21226/21226.pdf http://www.e-fish.co.uk/pages/support_intro.html
  13. I lived in Orlando for three years and you better believe I fished not only the Disney area ponds, lakes, and canals, but also hotel area lakes when I had a chance. I was not stopped once! Just use good judgement, also if are a guest at a resort and are on property you should have no problem.
  14. I thought only Saltwater reels were the only truly fully machined reels ? http://www.avetreels.com/about.html
  15. BINGO! My ideal location to catch hawgs would have to be on the edges of slop or in around sparse vegetation using a hollow body frog.
  16. All of you are too funny, its a truck peeing match. Today's modern "toy trucks" with 6-cylinder engines have more HP and similar torque numbers than late 90's 8 Cylinder trucks and they did just fine back then. For comparisons sake: 1999 Ford F-250 Superduty Standard Engine 5.4L 235 hp V8 Horsepower 235 @ 4250 RPM Torque (lb-ft) 335 @ 3000 RPM Towing Capacity 9800lbs 2012 Nissan Frontier 4x2 4.0-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine 261 hp @ 5,600 rpm 281 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm Towing Capacity 6,300lbs The "Toy Truck" would suffice to tow a 2012 Ranger Z522 5000Trailer GVWR (lbs.) Is it ideal to tow cross country or can it compare to modern diesel trucks when it comes to towing, NO! But you can most likely 2-3 Toy Trucks for the cost of 1 diesel truck and if you are concerned about tranmission life get the extended powertrain warranty to 100K miles. Nissan and Cummins are working on a 4-cylinder diesel platform that would be IDEAL for towing bass boats cross country while getting 30 MPGS during regular use! http://news.pickuptr...ssan-titan.html
  17. I knew you'd break your largemouth PB, let's see if we can eclipse that soon.
  18. Glad you are back!
  19. I have tow a Bullet 21 RDC, a Ranger 185 VS, and a Proline 23.5' all with EASE using my Nissan Frontier which is very similar to the Tacoma, gas mileage suffers dramatically I go from about 17-20 MPG to 12 MPG towing the Proline, but you will have NO problem towing it with that Tacoma. As a side note, don't over look the Nissan Frontier when test driving midsized trucks.
  20. Snook=Saltwater Bass
  21. Spot on! Picking it up Monday or Tuesday
  22. Did you get carpet on that boat, or carpetless? Fishing for me has been non existant between wife having surgery and family commitments, so I am living vicarously.
  23. Paint really has nothing to do with setup, I figured if I were going to list the Ultimate setup I would list every last detail. The rod blank and reel are my choice for ultimate.
