Duck Hunters!! Steel vs Hevi Shot vs. Tungsten
Your way better than I am. I think the "best I ever shot was 87", I am closer to mid/upper 70s consistently on the Sporting Clay Course. Never a competitive NCSA shooter mostly hunting, figure class A or AA on a good day. As far as the Ho Hums, I've seen plenty of older dudes shot the crap out of clays with an 1187/1100, albeit they have to clean their guns pretty often

Duck Hunters!! Steel vs Hevi Shot vs. Tungsten
Darn a .410, that is a great gun I just looked it up, it must quick to the shoulder and whippy. If you can consistently hit doves with that thing past 20 yards, than your in another league . I take my .28g for kicks, but it gets a bit expensive shooting since I am not a reloader. I may be out of luck if the range goes non-toxic with the little 28, unless I get into reloading. Anyway here is my quiver. 12g Beretta Urika 2 (Workhorse, duck) 12g Browning BPS Stalker Model (First Gun I bought using my own money back in High School, keeping it as a Turkey Blaster) 12g Beretta Silver Pigeon III (Pull!) 20g Benelli M2 Field (Favorite Dove/Duck Gun) 20g Benelli Montefeltro (Kind of like above but with real wood, but selling it to my brother) 28g Browning Citori 525 (Sweeeeeet) Had a Browning Sweet 16, but some crack head stole it from my buddies house > I have had the M2 for about 3 years now since I bought it when it first came out. I love the stealth black look and not having to worry about beating it up too bad and getting it wet.

Duck Hunters!! Steel vs Hevi Shot vs. Tungsten
Did I say duck hunting? :-? I thought the post clearly read 28gauge in a "DOVE FIELD." I was trying to tip the scales in something I actually do well, as far as Ducking you'd probably school me since my calling scares away even the bravest of Donalds. Anyway thanks for the input those Kent Fast Steels are on their way from Able Ammo. ;D

Duck Hunters!! Steel vs Hevi Shot vs. Tungsten
No hard feelings here Sir, but you're the one that insinuated lack of shooting ability, without knowing who I am. I wouldn't care if you are George Digweed, did you expect a Florida Cracker that grew up hunting ducks on the Everglades and the Big "O" to take the insult laying down? I was simply defending myself. You could have simply phrased your post in this matter: "SE_FL_Bassaddict, I have shot all three types of shells and in my opinion there is no appreciable difference, so save your money for the bait monkey and go with steel" Anyway I am going with the Steel. I still have a couple of boxes of Hevi Shot, so I can take some shells just in case the wind is blowing a bit too hard or the ducks are flying a little further away. Can't wait for early Teal!! Fourbizz what do you shot?

Brady Down...
I hate to say it, but the Pats will find a way to win. It'll make for an interesting AFC east though, short of my lousy Phins of course.

Duck Hunters!! Steel vs Hevi Shot vs. Tungsten
If you were any closer I'd have to school you with my 28 gauge on the dove field. I've been hunting since I was 4 years old and I consistently shoot Trap, Skeet and Sporting clays, so shooting ability is not a factor. I feel bad using the 12 gauge on anything smaller than a mottled duck, but since my duck buddies carry 12g into the blind I want to make sure I have the same ammo in case of a gun malfunction. If you read on how I phrased the post I was only asking duck hunters how they felt about the price difference and whether it was justified or not. For example I can knock'em dead with a Kent's Faststeel (Cheap, but good stuff), but when I or my partner has cripple and Donald is getting away its nice to know that the denser stuff can take them out at longer distances. Thus, the quandary.

New bass boat question
I have an Ranger Intracoastal which is basically an Bass Boat with no carpet, I wear crocs when fishing to keep quiet and last time I checked REALLY spooky saltwater species (Reds,Bonefish, Permit, Snook, Etc) are usually approached by fisherman in boats with NO carpet. I am sure carpeting helps, but how much, I don't know. If I lived where it was cold and miserable and ice on the deck would be a factor then carpet all the way!

daiwa vs h loomis frog rods
I agree with the Loomis Frog Rod opinion. I ended up getting Shimano Cumura 7'MH Fast Action and I LOVE IT. It light, has plenty of backbone and has a great warranty.

Duck Hunters!! Steel vs Hevi Shot vs. Tungsten
I am about to load up on 20g and 12g shotgun shells for the upcoming duck season and I am having a hard time justifying cost of Hevi Shot and/or Tungsten over steel shot. Although, I swear Hevi Shot can really pack a punch for ole' Donald.

08 Season
Went to the Dolphin/Jets game and as I am sitting there watching Brett I am thinking HOW THE HECK DID GREEN BAY let him go. By the way even though the Dolphins lost there is hope, Ronnie looked good, Ricky is out of the fog and Peddington is not a bad pickup. I'll be happy with 7 wins

This is why we wear sunglasses
I knew an optometrist that 20/15 vision and would wear glasses all the time with poly lenses. She said that she has seen too many freaky accidents not to wear them.

Finished my UPGRADES and some prop ??'s
Finally finished with all the upgrades to my Ranger 185vs Intracoastal. 1 AGM Cranking Battery, 2 New Deep Cycle Batteries, an XL Power Pole, Bobs Jack Plate, and a New Garmin GPS 545 w/ BlueChart® g2 Vision Chip. ;D I currently have a Yamaha 23M Pro Series and was wondering if I would get a better hole shot with a 4 blade prop. I was thinking of getting a Yamaha Performance 4 Blade Prop w/ a 24" pitch. I know its a bigger pitch and you're supposed to go an inch smaller, but the Yammy website states: "If a Pro or Saltwater Series prop was used previously, pick a pitch one inch higher when trying one of these propellers because they are slightly less aggresive" Anyone running a 185vs here with a four blader? If so any suggestions or what 4 blade Prop to use? What type of performance do you get? I have a 150HP Yamaha Vmax on it. I don't need a speed demon, but I need to get out of the hole quickly in shallow water flats and sometimes I use my boat to pull by buddies skiing. Currently get 59MPH before jack plate haven't had a chance to run it wide open after adding jack plate. Thanks in advance!

Port Mayaca Boat Ramp?
Thanks for the heads up, have never fished that side before and since I just bought the boat I think I will avoid it.

Some one stole my rods!! I want them back!!!!!
I HATE THIEVES!! My brother's father-in-law was a die hard fisherman and had his rod/reel combos stolen from his front yard after rinsing them, worth over $7K. Unfortunately, he become so disgusted he sold his open fisherman and gave up on fishing all together. Was the post in S. FLA? I'll keep my eyes on the S. FL craigslist for any suspicious post.

Port Mayaca Boat Ramp?
Mr. Welcome, I plan on taking my Ranger 185vs Intracoastal Edition and preferably fishing the east side of the lake if its any good (?) or the perimeter canal. Thanks, Robert

Port Mayaca Boat Ramp?
Anyone here have some experience putting in at the Port Mayaca Boat Ramp? If so, how is it as far as ramp conditions and is the fishing on the Central East side of the lake any good? Should I consider putting in further north or south? I'd be willing to take someone out in the area fishing for exchange for some pointers. Thanks in advance and tight lines!

lake okeechobee
Great pic, I can't wait to get out on the Big O soon and tear them up. I am sure the lake will rebound with all this rain, were there any much removal projects on the South End of the lake?

About to be living in Boca Raton
Send me an PM when your down here. I have a honey hole for peacocks in Davie and have some hot spots north of you in Wellington and North Palm Beach. In S. Florida you really can't go wrong fishing most canals and lakes, sometimes the most overlooked canal has some hogs. Boca is a bit tough but google earth it and you'll find some spots. I went to grad school at Find Another University (FAU), but I am Nole to the end.
