Yeah, I definitely wanna keep round bend on my jerkbaits and topwater. As far as bigger hooks/balance, would that really affect a crankbait? I could see a jerkbait, where it could mess up the suspension.

So I have to admit, I've always been terrible with replacing stock trebles on baits. Obviously not all need it, but some certainly could use it. I know the KVD Triple Grips are very popular, as well at the Owner ST-36. What baits do you guys put bigger hooks on? Would you go Triple Grips or round bend (ST-36) on lipless cranks? I read somewhere round bend is easier from ripping thru grass. Any truth to this? Red Eyed Shad comes with size 4. Would you recommend going to size 2? Same with the KVD 1.5. Do you up-size to #2 Triple Grips? What do you put on 5XD and 6XD? Any advice is appreciated! Also, is this site legit? Are you saying you want a spinning rod for your jigs? What kind of jigs are you talking about? Because you can throw skirted jigs on that SLX. Unless you're talking about finesse jigs.

My last 'big' fish of the season. Caught last month on a jig in 49 degree water. Was holding tight to some laydowns in about 1.5 feet of water. 5.3 lbs, 21".

No experience with the Avid. But I think my next spinning rod may be the new Zodias. It's also look sweet with that reel you have. I bought the 7'2" 'jig rod' on a whim near the beginning of fall and love it! It just feels right. I mostly had a swim jig tied on it. I usually fish my swim jigs on my Megabass Orochi, but I kept finding myself grabbing the Lew's over the Orochi. Now I'm not saying it's better than the Orochi or anything crazy like that. But man, there's just something about it that makes it really fun to fish.

I swear I need to give up this hobby. It just costs so dang much. In the spring/summer/fall I'm busy fishing. In the winter I get my fishing fix by buying and buying and buying...even tho I already have enough stuff to hold me over for years to come. But there's nothing better than coming home from work and seeing that brown box on your doorstep that UPS dropped off. Christmas for adults. Anyways, here's my first 2 Black Friday orders so far. For clarification- the Destroyer sale isn't for every rod in the lineup. The ones that are included are the Bunker Buster, Otomat, Mark 48, Onager, Warhammer. In spinning model they have one on sale- the Brigand. But yeah, these are GREAT deals for sure!

I have a Helium, a KLX and 2 Feel N Reels. I love all of them, especially the Helium and FNR. The Helium (7'1" med/heavy I use for soft plastics) is very sensitive. I bought them all last year. This year they bumped them all up by $50, which kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. That's one heck of a hike.

Haven't tried it, but I do have a few bags of the Neko Fat. Have mostly fished them on shaky heads with good success.

I'm assuming better than they perform out of the water.

Looks good to me! When I'm on my PC, I notice the font is smaller than it used to be. But then I noticed the 'customizer' near the top of the page which lets us change font size, etc. One suggestion that I think many would like is an option for 'night mode', where the background is darker, making it easier on the eyes. Kind of like what Twitter has.
