Most expensive lure
This is my worry. I bought the 6" Bull Shad over the winter and have yet to throw it. I have pike and muskie in many lakes I fish.

Dedicated Jig Rod
For this rod, mainly skirted jigs. 3/8oz to 1/2oz. And I need to enroll in your AA program. I bought so much gear that I really don't "need".

Dedicated Jig Rod
You sure about that? Tackle Warehouse has them listed at a lower price right now only because Kistler is running that 21% off. Other than that, I don't even know where you can purchase their rods other than their own website. Also, on Kistler's site, you can stack another 10% off, which you can't do at TW.

Dedicated Jig Rod
Thanks guys. I figured I'd get a few NRX recommendations. Not sure I wanna go quite that high in price tho. Wanna stay between $200-$300.

Dedicated Jig Rod
Ok, so right now I usually throw my jigs on a Curado rod. It's a nice rod and all, but I'd like to step it up a tad. I'm, looking at either a Shimano Expride A or a Kistler Helium 3 (or even KLX). Anybody have a recommendation for either of these...or even something else? Thanks.

Megabass Dark Sleeper...a sleeper no more!
I'd say the 2 most effective ways to fish them is either bouncing them like a jig, or swimming them closely to the bottom, or along the bottom. And yeah, I'll definitely be throwing these for LM. I'm sure the 2.4" would do great as well. Maybe even better in certain situations. I love how pretty much every bass I caught was hooked deep in the top lip or in the roof of the mouth.

Megabass Dark Sleeper...a sleeper no more!
There's been a lot of talk about this bait the last few weeks. I guess it's a "sleeper" no more. Ksam1234 stared a thread a few weeks back asking where he can find these, since most places were out of stock in the 3", 3/8oz versions. Until then, I really didn't give much thought to these lures. I've heard of them, but after seeing them on sites, I just thought "eh, looks like nothing special". So, I started looking around for him to see if I could help him out, but had no luck. Little later, he replied that he had found some (forgot what site). So I decided, heck with it, I'm gonna order a few. Now, I've been fishing this local river (from shore, too shallow/rocky for my boat) for a few weeks now hoping to get some smallie action. No luck. Actually, nobody has been doing that well except for an occasional walleye. The current has been VERY strong, making it a bit more challenging. Anyways, I went back out last weekend and hit a few spots with my new Dark Sleeper. And holy man, what a difference!! This bait is magical! I caught 9 smallies in about a 4 hour span (few hours each day). I've been concentrating on tiny slack water spots behind laydowns/boulders. That's where I caught all of these bass. Eventually I lost both my lures do to snags. I tried tubes, jigs, other plastics. Nothing. But I ordered a handful more, which came the other day. Yesterday after work I had an hour to spare so I went out and caught 3 smallies in my first 7 casts. 6 total in that hour. There was a front about to come thru that may have turned them fish on. Also caught a nice crappie! Annnyways, I just wanted to let my fellow fisherman/women know how great these little baits are. And even tho they are small, they're anything but finesse fishing (well, the 3" at least). Here's a few I caught. Nothing huge, but a few chunkers.

I want Gander to succeed. They've "went out of business" once already. I talked to a few Gander representatives about the possibility of them improving their online stock, and every time they've been pretty brash with me, despite me talking nicely about it. It is what it is. I hope they stick around.

Too bad this isn't in-store too. Their online site is terrible. Selection is very limited. Not sure what they're doing over there.

Fish Eyes
Megabass has the best eyes. They have the "oh crap, I think he saw me" look.

Wait, we're allowed to talk about Spam now? Good. That stuff is NASTY!!! JK, Glenn. Love this place! You've (this thread in particular) cost me a lot of money since I've come aboard!

Kittery Trading Post
The flash sale is over, but I'll be on the lookout when they have it again. 25% off Megabass is quite a deal and one you don't see often. It even included their new Levante line of rods.

Thanks, and agreed. So often people are quick to talk about their negative experiences but not enough about their positive experiences.

Kittery Trading Post
Hopefully this is ok, but I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Kittery Trading Post. Yesterday they were running a 25% off flash sale on Megabass (and few other brands) that went until midnight EST. (FTR, I did come here to tell y'all about it in the "sale" thread, but someone had beat me to it. ) I had some products in my cart, but then something came up where I was pulled away and missed the sale by literally one minute. I emailed them asking if they knew when the next sale would be, telling them I had just missed this one. I got an email back this morning saying if I call them with my order, they'd be happy to honor it. The email was from a lovely lady named Maureen. When I called them just now, Maureen herself answered the phone and could not have been more polite and helpful. I figured I'd get some random operator, but as it turns out this place isn't some big retailer/website, but an actual store out of Maine (never heard of them before yesterday). Also if you're registered there, you get free shipping over $20 orders (otherwise it's free shipping over $81). I ended up getting some Megabass OneTen's, a Popmax and some Magdrafts. So, that's all. Just wanted to give some attention to what seems like a great company!

Stanford Baits Boom Boom Hollow Body Frog
This reminds me of the old Culprit worms that had a strip of velcro on them. Does it work? Who knows? I'm sure you will catch fish on them, but it that because of the velcro patch? Seems gimmicky to me, but what do I know? https://newsok.com/article/2278038/bass-just-cant-let-go-of-this-worm

So bummed. I went to checkout and just missed the sale by seconds. Had a handful of OneTen+1's and Mag Drafts in my cart.

Megabass Levante F5-72LV - Diablo Spec-R
I've never used a Megabass rod before. But I found the new 2019 Levantes on sale for 25% off. I know these are rather new, but was curious if anyone has any experience with them? Or even the older model?

Megabass dark sleeper , help finding them!
Online?? I looked earlier an nada. Unless they just restocked. Good for you! These would make good goby imitators for smallies on Lake Michigan.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I'm rather embarrassed I've never tried it. It's obvious how productive it is. I really need to work on my finesse fishing as a whole come to think of it. And I hear ya on the smallies. When I think of drop shotting, I think of smallies. I have some nice smallie lakes around me too.

I just called them. The guy says he hasn't heard anything about them having the stimulus sale this year. It would have been going by now. Rather disappointing.
