  1. Believe it or not, humidity in WI can get pretty brutal. Granted, not on your level though.
  2. *frantically searching for the middle finger emoji*
  3. Thankfully things are thawing quickly here. I am gonna do some smallie river fishing this weekend I think.
  4. I just wanna throw this out there to you guys who have open water right now. I hate you.
  5. Oh I know. Here too. Sometimes I wonder why I don't move south. Maybe to TN.
  6. I'm gonna hop the pond and you can show me the ways. Get me on some 7 lb smallies and make me a believer!
  7. I'm 44 years old. I've been fishing since I can remember. And I have never...not even once...fished a drop shot. How insane is THAT??! Now, I am more of a 'power' guy as opposed to 'finesse'. Tho I will throw the ned rig, shaky head etc from time to time. But I've never tried the drop shot. I have no idea why either because all I've ever heard and seen is how well it works. This is something I'm gonna work on this spring.
  8. I love my Dobyns rods, but this is something I've noticed on my Fury's as well. Not a deal-breaker, but I expect better. I know some say this is normal, but I don't have this issue on any of my other brand rods. And my Sierra is fine too.
  9. I had pretty good success with these last year (not the jr). Mainly with a slow, steady retrieve thru or around pads.
  10. I have the Mojo Bass in 6'8" medium extra fast. I use it for poppers and walking the dog mostly, but it also works just fine for jerkbaits. I was deciding between the fast and extra fast, and to be honest, when playing with them both in store I couldn't tell much of a difference.
  11. Something like this? I like these as stand-alones, but they'd work on a jig for sure. Little more subtle approach.
  12. Same here. Great net. BTW, I love how you have a pic for every recommendation you give.
  13. Gander has 25% off your order, no minimum. Code: WINTERSTORM Runs through tomorrow (21st).
  14. American Legacy always has some good deals on Native's.
  15. This is what I've read for the Mustang Elite. Hydrostatic Inflator Technology will automatically inflate under water pressure, not inadvertently in rain, spray or humidity Hydrostatic auto-inflator - Activated by water pressure, the Hammar Hydrostatic Inflator Technology will automatically inflate when submerged Maybe different brands react differently? I really don't know.
  16. That made it inflate?? I thought it had to be submerged for it to inflate. Maybe the older ones just had to get wet? That's hilarious either way.
  17. Wait, wha...how?
  18. Those will work.
  19. Yup. For those wondering, these are the latches you want (pro latch). The second pic is the ones that fall off all the time (ribbed).
  20. Thanks for all the replies. I knew I'd see a lot of braid to fluoro mentions. And Tatsu. I've honestly never done the braid to fluoro only because that extra knot worries me. I suppose I could give it a try. And I've been wanting to try Tatsu, but don't wanna get spoiled because I won't be able to afford it on a regular basis since I cut and tie a lot.
  21. What do you guys use for your jig and/or Texas rig outfits, not counting braid? I've always used mono until recently when I switched to copoly. I will use straight braid if I'm punching, but that's it. I want something that has low-stretch (good sensitivity) and is as invisible as possible in the water. Would I be better off going to fluoro? Is fluoro really more sensitive than colpoly? If so, what brands for you recommend? I've tried Sniper once (not bottom bouncing) and it seemed fine enough. I've heard some good things about Berkley Trilene 100% Fluoro. I don't have a ton of experience with fluoro, so any advice is welcomed.
  22. FYI, the SLX doesn't come in a 7' heavy. If you want heavy, you'd have to jump up to 7'2".
  23. I can imagine. Probably not a good thing that I stumbled upon it. I'd love to give the Shimano Metanium DC a whirl, but then I'm sure I'd wanna buy it. Somebody call The Men in Black, asap!
