I'll snell knot if I'm punching with straight shank. As far as normal t-rig flipping/pitching, I usually use EWG's, but have thought about dabbling more in straight shanks. Do you snell with fluoro as well, or just braid? Same here. Well, I will also peg if I'm fishing some really gnarly brush/laydowns.

Went out to target smallies this morning. After catching about 20 smaaaalll smallies up shallow, I decided to hit a steep drop-off (40 FOW) and managed a handful of 18-19.5 inchers on drop shot. A few on a finesse jig. The biggest weighing in right at 4 lbs. I may have a new favorite drop shot bait after today. Keitech Easy Shaker (3.5"). It got bit when other DS baits wouldn't. These things SMELL ('squid scent'). Not the most durable. But they do have a really nice quiver to them with the slightest movement. Tons of these dinks caught before finally finding the bigger ones. But you can tell they're eating and look really healthy. Good for the future of this fishery.

Hey, if it works for you that's all that matters! You obviously have no problems catching fish. There's no rules to this.

Been wanting to try the 13 Fishing Power Slide when it was first released a few years back. I never got around to getting one but then I was watching a Whatnot auction and they put one up for cheap so I snatched it up. I've been so impressed with it, I ended up getting 2 more off eBay. You can still find them but not sure for how much longer, since Rapala bought them out and looks to have squashed most of their baits (definitely all their hard baits). 😡 Shiny Bone, Translucent Bone and Bone.

Like others have said, it's a confidence thing. If you have confidence in a bait/color, you're going to work it more effectively instead of just going through the motions. The whole color thing is just weird. Chartreuse crankbaits are super popular, but how many chartreuse swim jigs have you ever seen? Black/blue swim jigs are quite popular, yet you rarely see black/blue crankbaits or spinnerbaits.

I love the smell of the Bellows Gill. Very unique scent. I'm guessing the Shad has the same scent?

Pulled out the Launch Frog today. For the life of me I could not get it to walk, and I can usually get most frog to walk. Very small twitches. Bigger twitches. All I got was a head bob. Are you guys able to walk this guy, or do you mainly relegate it to the thick stuff?

Are you guys mainly throwing the Launch Frog? Or Pro Series? I have a few of them (along with some reeaallly old ones from back in the day), but I always forget about them. Seems like I'm usually reaching for a Pad Crasher, Bronze Eye or Gavacho. I have been wanting to try the Launch Frog XS.

There really is some really good customer service nowadays with these bait companies.

I love Sniper. Tho I've only used it on casting gear (not counting leader on spinning setups). I still use KVD line conditioner on it the majority of the time.

Funny you mention it. Just a few days ago I went on TW looking for it and didn't see it anywhere. I was also gonna ask here is they're discontinuing it, but I forgot. I use the 13# on a few of my top water rods. Never had any issues. Seeing how nicely the line is wound on a new spool when you first pull it out of the box is a thing of beauty.

I have the 7'2 MH and it weighed in at 4.01 oz. Rods may vary. For starters, some might have more epoxy than others. I've even seen it where the same model has slightly different lengths.
