  1. Nice. Mine is scheduled to be delivered on Monday. Since it's coming via FedEx, I'm hoping to have it by fall.
  2. The Whooper Plopper in general? I don't fish the 130 nearly as much as the other sizes. But a few years ago I was in northern WI fishing a gin clear lake with a buddy and he had a smallie come up and just annihilate one in 30' of water. That was one impressive fish.
  3. Whopper Plopper 130 in the TW Matte Black.
  4. I'm surprised more people don't use this knot. One of the easiest knots to tie. Has never failed on me. And like you said, the tag end doesn't give you any issues. I used to use Sand Diego Jam for my fluoro but it isn't necessary. I use the Trilene Knot on everything minus braid (Palomar) and connection knots, obviously. Just a great knot.
  5. I definitely don't think the trailer has to match to look good/get the bass' attention either. I really like this combo. Green Pumpkin Chatterbait with a Crawdad color Kamikaze Craw.
  6. That's what I'm talking about! And I agree, hardbaits that are beat to heck are on a whole other level of beauty!
  7. You ever rig up a jig with a trailer and think "oh man, that looks sexy"? Or pop a new crankbait that you just bought out of it's package and are taken aback by it's beautiful paintjob? Or maybe it's a custom bait you made or saw somewhere online that just made your jaw drop just a little? I just love a good-looking bait. To me it's like fine art. I thought it would be kind of fun to have a thread for people to post their "creations", obscure gems etc. for others to admire and also maybe get ideas for themselves. I'll start with this company out of Gettysburgh, PA called HH Custom Baits. I just came across them tonight and these micro jigs/trailers really caught my eye. ? And a few I put together. 1/2 oz Keitech Tungsten Football Jig with a 3" Damiki Air Craw. 3/8 oz Jackhammer with a Beast Coast Blade Runner.
  8. I use mine almost exclusively for spinnerbaits, but It would do much more IMO. It weighs 4.41 oz.
  9. Those reels are crazy heavy tho. What do they have to compete with the Tatula's and Curado's of the world? (and not as important as function, but their reels aren't that aesthetically pleasing IMO).
  10. I'm intrigued. Now to step their reel game up.
  11. Deal on reels. $25 GC with $99+, with code: REEL25GC $50 GC with $189+, with code: REEL50GC $100 GC with $349+, with code: REEL100GC $150 GC with $499+, with code: REEL150GC
  12. Another vote for 15lb. Armilo. But for toads I still like straight braid.
  13. Ah, thanks. I got this message. We have your order! We are working to get your order picked, packed and shipped from our warehouse. Check back soon for more details
  14. I don't have that model, but if I were you I's call Kistler and talk to Trey himself.
  15. Boo. I placed an order on March 27 but haven't heard anything yet. Did you get an email when they shipped? I think I ordered a day after you so I'm expecting the same. I'll likely ask for a refund. If you don't have stuff in stock, update your site. Inexcusable.
  16. I use the 7/0 Lazer Trokar Swim Blade hook. I have friends who swear by the 8/0 Beast Hook.
  17. I do wanna try the 70 tho. Thinking I may get it for my new 7' med-light Tatula Elite rod. I held one at a store last week and man that thing is tiny. Seems even smaller than the Curado MGL 70.
  18. I throw mostly swim jigs on that rod. I have a 6.3 Tatula Elite on it. I usually prefer 6 speed reels for swim jigs and Chatterbaits.
  19. Overall I use 16# Sniper. But if I'm throwing lighter finesse jigs on a lighter rod I'll drop down to 12# fluoro. Or 30# braid. Keep in mind if you're fishing around a lot of rock, braid doesn't play that well. You may wanna add a fluoro leader.
  20. Yeah I bought it over the winter. To be fair, I haven't used it a ton yet. They're a JDM company that I didn't know anything about before doing a little research. When I first took it out of the tube, it felt great in hand and balanced really well. It only weighs 3.81 oz, which is about the same as my 6'11 medium+ Poison Adrena. Fit and finish is really nice. The handle is removable, but I doubt I'll ever take it back off. Once you put it on tight, it's in there. It takes some cranking to get it off (at least mine does). But that's fine, I didn't buy it for that reason. As far as usage, I've only used it during one outing this year. I didn't catch anything on it. I was mostly just getting a feel for it and what it can do. It's rated a mod-fast, but I'd say it's a little closer to fast. I think it's gonna do great at a lot of things. Close quarter/pin point spinnerbait fishing for sure. As well as jigs/Texas rigs. Swim Jigs, Chatterbaits, Keitech's.
  21. Something different. Legit Design Stand Out. LEGIT DESIGN STAND OUT Casting Rod 6'10" Med Hvy A rod that supports a wide range of fishing methods that play a central role in power fishing including cover fishing with jigs and worms, as well as single hook hard baits like spinnerbaits and bladed jigs. The 6'10” length combines cast performance and operability. ***PLEASE NOTE: features a removable handle design for easy transportation***
  22. Gosh, I remember being 16, loading my 10' jon boat into the back of my hatchback Horizon TC3 (little longer version of the normal Horizon...I'd say about 5' were inside the car and 5' sticking out the back. It was quite the site) and heading to the local lake with a few rods and a handful of Slug-Go's. The bass absolutely destroyed that bait! I have no idea why I don't use them still today. Obviously more options today, etc. You may have inspired me to buy a pack.
