Yes I did, but at the same time you have to understand how improbable it would have been for Wentz to put up the same performance. Foles put up two games in the playoffs (a situation where Wentz has to prove he can play at all in) that were better than any games Wentz had to date in his entire career. If Foles was any less spectacular in the final two games, the Eagles would not have made the Super Bowl let alone won it. The odds of Wentz being able to step into the same situation and do the same thing are near zero. It would be like the Patriots putting in Drew Bledsoe at the final drive of the first Super Bowl. You have to understand that. It's not about Foles lack of prior success, it's about what he actually did that season (which is still more than anything Wentz has done in the postseason, but I'm not saying that's necessarily Wentz's fault either). I would say the Cowboys did self destruct somewhat. They are a very poorly coached team as well, which doesn't help anything. But I would call only 10 points against New Orleans or 9 against the Patriots (who I will be the first to tell you are a good defense but not nearly as good as most people think) self-destructing when they needed 13 to win or tie. They played worse against Buffalo, who can't seem to beat the Patriots but Josh Allen looked like Steve Young in his prime that game. I was actually at the Pats Cowboys game (my first Pats game too). The Pats made a handful of decent plays but that game was decided on the Dallas' bad play. They even had time for a down the field bomb and Prescott throws it to the guy with three defenders closing in from downfield on him and no where to go, has to be one of the worst "hail mary" type plays I have ever seen.

I actually run the booyahs for lighter colored single colorado bladed spinners. I usually lose them before I have a problem with rust on the hooks since I fish them a lot early in the year when the water level is very low but I was amazed how quick the skirts thinned -- even fishing them in deeper water. My dual colorado bladed spinnerbaits I currently have are War Eagles and they were quite productive for me late in the fall and I've had them a few seasons now.

I'd be surprised if he ever got another coaching job to be completely honest. Wentz has generally been the better quarterback, but at the same time there is no way that he could have done what Foles that year in the last two games to get to and win the Super Bowl either. On the flipside, they may have not even made the postseason with Foles playing the rest of the year. Now I'm not saying Wentz is junk and not worthy etc I am just saying there is no way he could have did what Foles did on that given year -- he is still young and learning etc. The other thing to consider that contributed to the Eagles winning the division is the Cowboys mid season self-destruction. We both know the Cowboys are overrated, but what happened there? I must admit even I'm a little surprised. The Ravens are a better defensive team but when balls start flying, it's Mahomes game. As a Pats fan, I can't see them beating Baltimore or KC this year, especially after losing home field to the Chiefs but I don't think it would have been enough. I'm extremely worried about Tennessee.

I can then load the following into the bed of the truck as I need it (I rarely keep it in the truck when I don't need it in fear someone may steal it): -Flambeau Bazooka rod tube that can easily fit a dozen rods -Two pistol cases that may have up to 10 casting reels and 5 spinning reels at any time. -Bass mafia tackle bag (that thing is massive!) -Portable Cabela's grill -Bag of grilling stuff (tools, seasonings, trash bags, paper plates, plastic forks etc.) -Up to three different coolers, one for day use and one to take drinks with me to a fishing sport and one for camping -A box with various camping gear, inc. a portable burner and iron skillet that I can use instead of the grill sometimes I started keeping flashlights and extra batteries in the glove box -- caught night fishing too many times without a flashlight. I usually keep a raincoat under the backseat and depending on the time of the year, extra socks and shoes or sandals.

Well here's a decent Youtube series -- along with the articles and videos on this site which should help you. As for lures to stat with, this video series actually does a pretty decent job listing them. I would say if you have weeds in your fishing spot, go with a medium heavy fast casting rood and reel and start with weighted texas rigs, spinnerbaits (3/8 and 1/2oz), chatterbaits (3/8 and 1/2oz) and swim jigs (3/8 and 1/2oz), and get a 3/8oz pitching jig and net bait paca craw trailers for the jigs and keitech fat impact 3.8" or 4.3" for chatterbait trailers. Use 15lb monofilament line. If most of your fishing spots don't have many weeds, you can try a medium power fast action rod with weightless t-rigs, wacky rigs (Glenn did a video of how he fishes them, get a 1/4oz jig head and do the same), 3/8oz spinnerbaits, 1/4oz or 3/8oz chatterbaitsm square bills (size 1.5 and 2.5 alike), jerkbaits, poppers and spooks. Use 12lb monofilament line.

Good question. It is possible Strike King makes a cheaper version for Walmart -- many other brands certainly do the same thing. Do the hooks look the same?

Not counting soft plastics, I believe the lure I lost was this alabama bream football head jig from Dirty Jigs that I fish around rocks a lot -- reason for losing is pretty self explanatory. Second place is a Berkley Cutter 90 Shallow, which like the name implies is my go to jerkbait in shallow water.

I usually use a dual uni knot to tie backing line to main line with 10 turns on each side. If you have a spool that you can tie to, you might not need to use backing but that depends on how much line the reel holds. If it will hold 80 yards of whatever size line you're using then tie straight on. If it will hold 110 yards of 65lb, add roughly 30-40 yards of 17lb mono backing. Also if it holds under 80 yards of line, you can wrap the spool with black electrical tape then tie the line around that and that will keep the line from slipping. Here's a video that should help

Yeah, I just need to be able to cut a few super struts. I already figured out the rest of it. I might try to set it up to have one on the bottom and the upper rack a little bit higher and then two up top as well. I can buy 2 ft superstruts as bars instead of 6 inch ones, I just need to cut the top rails a little shorter than the bottom rails. Well you aren't wrong, I'm sure I will be paying about $500 in taxes between everything I'm buying this year. But this sort of setup looks a bit easier and will definitely be cheaper.

I only see two different weights -- regardless I was looking at something on Home Depot that was the same size and they wanted $650! From the image of what the guy in that video did, I think I can figure that out. I'm not a metal worker of anything so you can rule out custom stuff, but that seems like something I could do. He even links everything I'd need for the same setup.

So as many of you know, I have been contemplating buying a bass boat, pending a decent place to store it. Well in short, I haven't found any in town storage, so next year I am going to buy kayaks for myself and the boys, plus it will do my fat ass some good rowing a kayak around and I can use it in lakes I can't use a bass boat. My oldest son wants a stand up paddleboard and likes the Ocean Kayak Nalu which is a hybrid SUP and kayak and probably one of the better models to fish from and I'm pretty sure I'm going with a Bonafide SS127 myself as it's stable and will hold my fat ass and give me confidence to stand up in it. As for my youngest son, the Old Town Top Water 106 or 120 look pretty good for the price, and he's quite light and probably always will be so that should be perfect for him. So my question is what's a decent affordable trailer that can hold at least 3 kayaks, and preferably survive being stored outside (if it folds up, I can probably store it in my dad's garage during the winter). I found these things (https://rightontrailer.com/product/multi-sport-trailer-with-box-rack/) but I'm not sure how well they hold up and wondering if anyone has any experience with them? They are certainly much cheaper than a snowmobile trailer and much easier to back in to the rather limited space on my hill. Any input or other options would be appreciated.

I don't have too much experience with the Fury, I only got to put them through the paces poking the tips in stores but I would imagine the general actions between the two should be close. I am told the Sierra is a bit more sensitive, but I know many people recommend the Fury lineup for the price too. I am told the Fury is similar to the St. Croix Mojo Bass, and my other son has a few of them and I have one too and they are also good rods, so if that's true then I would have no reservations with the Fury if you are looking to save some money -- or maybe buy a 703C and 704C.

Well in the case of the Zodias, those are maybe a little bit beefier and are geared towards using heavier line than the 704C or similar Tatula, so they will likely handle 20lb fluoro/mono a little better. But the 704C/Tatula are great with 12-17lb fluoro/mono - 12-15lbs typically for T-Rigs and 15-20lb typically for jigs although I like 17lb if I am running fluorocarbon for jigs. It's really preference and what you fish. I don't have a lot of lakes with really heavy weeds, so 20lb fluorocarbon is a little overkill for my needs - 17lb has adequate hook setting power and pulls them out of most of the weeds I fish and if not I use 65lb braid on my heavy rod.

Well up here in MA, around 3pm seems to be the optimal time to fish most reaction and moving lures before our lakes freeze.

I am waiting for the poop lure he mentioned in this video to drop. In the meantime, he catches them with a (fake) severed finger here. Anyway my confessions... -I hardly ever get a fish on a T-Rigged senko (no problem on a jig, drop shot, ned rig etc). -I fish a frog far too often even though my bite rate is about he same as a T-rigged senko and my catch rate is even worse... but they're so fun when they do bite!

The booyah's do work but my problem is the skirts fall apart on them if you so much as breathe on them. They do make some single and double bladed colorado bladed spinnerbaits that are productive early and late in the season when they won't chase any other moving bait.

The Tatula SV is a great reel and that is a fantastic price for it. I believe I only got one of my three for that price, the others were $155-165 or so if I'm remembering right and they're still easily worth it. But as others suggested, make sure you are using the right rod. For spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, a M/F rod can be used for up to 3/8oz lures and also throw a square bill, but a MH/F rod is not a good choice for square bills and will throw a 1/2oz spinnerbait much further than a 3/8oz spinnerbait.

Not necessarily. For the most part, a medium heavy fast tipped rod (basically the 704C) is a better all-situation rod (can fish cover better) but as far as the number of presentations, a medium rod is every bit as versatile or maybe more so. Things you're not going to fish on the 704C: most treble hooked lures, except for large ones, preferably with heavy replacement hooks. So not a good crankbait, popper or jerkbait rod. Things you're not going to fish on the 703C: T-Rigs with over 1/8oz weight (I would personally use 1/16oz oz like I suggested before), jigs, frogs, 1/2oz+ lures Since it sounds like you have a lot of lighter lures, it sounds like the 703C might be a better rod for most of your lures. Also you can fish a 3/8oz spinnerbait on both. The 703C will launch a 3/8oz spinnerbait, but on the 704C you're going to need a meaty keitech trailer to get near the same distance. If you don't always use a trailer, a 1/2oz spinnerbait will get significantly better casting distance. While you can fish a T-Rig on both, the 704C will definitely have better hooksetting power especially in weeds, but the lighter weights are generally better in clear water. It's all about what you plan to use it for.

I don't have that problem with my dual braking reel. I do find that if I am trying to tweak it for max distance, if what I do with my thumb is not consistent I am going to have problems though. Nice steal! Thanks for the review.

I have been using a Daiwa Tatula SV for cranks. It casts them well without backlashing, but does not cast them nearly as far as some other reels can which is its downsize. I have no experience with Shimano Curado DC but the regular Curados cast pretty far! I also have a Pflueger Patriarch that I've been using for topwaters that I may swap out with the SV next year. The nice thing about that is that it's a dual brake, so you can really tweak it to your liking. Magnets will slow the reel more when the speed is slow and centrifugal brakes slow it more when it's fast, so by keeping them both low you can slow the spool all around -- and of course tweak it to what you don't normally do well with your thumb.
