Another SC Victory Question
It has a very soft tip, but a very short tip. For spinnerbaits, I would prefer a tip that loads more into the blank, even if the tip is stiffer. Killer jig rod though. If you're looking for a single rod to do it all, you'll want the 7'3" MH/F. Maybe even the 7'1" MH/F if you are throwing 3/8oz and under chatterbaits with lighter trailers. If you found the power and action of your 7' Avid X MH/F was about right, you'll like the 7'3" MH/F.

Also Curado 150 MGL vs 70 MGL question
It also depends on line size. If you are using 16# fluorocarbon, the 70 is fine, I think it holds about 70 yards. If you are using 20# you might want a slightly larger spool.

How many rod brands do you use?
I try to be consistent. Most of my rods are Daiwa. I own a couple of St Croix rods to fill gaps that Daiwa did not offer.

Looking for Jig Skipping Rod
The H/xf has a shorter but much softer tip and maybe a little more backbone to it. The MH/F has a stiff tip. Both are good for a lot of the same things (jigs, Carolina rigs, t-rigs etc). The H is more of a specialty stick but a good one where the MH is a little more versatile.

I have a work laptop but the wifi barely works at all. I won't bother with it anymore. It plugs into the router and I remote desktop via my desktop in to work on the large screen and use it for work and that's it. My tablet is a Surface Pro 3 but the keyboard broke a while back but since I used to have a working laptop, I didn't bother replacing it.

Remind me to check the group once I'm out of isolation.- Winter fishing zoom call series
Did you get the email I just sent? I couldn't use my outlook group since I can't use my desktop since I am isolating for covid right now, so I added addresses manually and you were definitely there.- Winter fishing zoom call series
I sent the invite for 10am. It is supposed to be 10am. I set the zoom call to start at 10pm which I fixed - and shot out a followup email to clear up any confusion with anyone else.- Reviews
- Dedicated jig rod
I'm not sure that the current Zodias MH is the same, but an order model was quite a powerful rod for a MH. It had enough power to handle some pretty decent cover. Either way in the absence of cover, I would go with the MH.- Greatest Album Titles of All Time
I like Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar by Frank Zappa. Good album too- Risky topic…what are your personal biases???
My thoughts on the matter is that when I'm catching fish, I'm happy and I tend to not think about it and stick to what works. When I'm not catching fish however then I start thinking is my line too thick or visible? Do I need some scent? Or maybe my hair's not quite right. As for colors, I personally believe the biggest differences are generally going to be with red (maybe orange) vs non red colors more than anything else.- The Measure Of Success
It seems like this is a rabbit hole I don't want to go down myself. It puts me in a bad mood, often for a bad reason. For example I'm hitting the water on what seems like optimal conditions for a shot at a new PB. So I set the reasonable goal of catching a 5 pounder, only I catch a limit of 20lbs or so, not a bad day by any means but none broke 5 lbs and then I'm disappointed I didn't get s 5 pounder. Or on other days, maybe I get skunked entirely.- Seasonal Bait Color Choices
My only real seasonal color preferences are I like silver crankbaits and jerkbaits in the spring and fall.- Winter fishing zoom call series
I was thinking maybe 10am EST (which would be 9am central)?- Winter fishing zoom call series
The morning of February 6th would actually work for me. No hockey games that weekend. I can't schedule next weekend because my birthday is on Friday but due to hockey practice I'm not likely to do anything for my birthday on my birthday but I don't know my schedule yet. Alternatively, I was going to ask if someone else wanted to volunteer to run one. Sometimes daily hockey practices makes it hard for me. I don't think we did any of these calls the last time my kid played in a normal travel league...- St croix victory rod power
I believe it really depends on the rod. The original model Victory casting rods do run a little lighter than their other St Croix counterparts at least but I've heard the ML spinning rod was basically a full blown medium. They're definitely great rods for the money, sensitive and very light. I am not aware of a 7'1" M/XF Mojo Bass. They do make a 7'1" M/F though which is generally designed for soft plastics, specifically T-Rigs. It might be heavy for lighter plastics.- How many rod brands do you use?
Most of my rods are Daiwas, and I have a couple of St Croix rods as well. At the time, Daiwa did not have an offering that fit what I was looking for. - Winter fishing zoom call series
