While I can generally agree with the resentments in this thread and in this thread, at the end of the day, it's important that you raise your kids to know better and it's important that you lead by example. On a related note, while not fishing related, KDH (a guitar channel) does a breakdown of a another guitar channel on Youtube with complaints that generally apply here. In many of his videos, he calls out other Youtubers and usually that will illicit a response, at times people's egos get threatened and others recognize his complaints and have made an effort to address them. But his complaints here apply to a large number of Youtube channels regardless of genre.

This is interesting because isn't Assassin supposed to be the real abrasion one? Like Abrazx is to InvizX? I have heard that a lot of people like Assassin better for moving baits as well - now for jerkbaits take that as what you will, I'm not really sure it applies.

I'm sorry I haven't gotten around to scheduling anything, tt's been an insane week for me, I've basically worked 8am to 8 or 9pm all week etc. Are we still up for an 11am (EST) call tomorrow?

I got one myself later last year. Filled it up with jigs and it even holds my chatterbaits.

I think with the jig box plus the thin, I can fit most of what I need without too much issue. I could probably get a smaller box for my squarebills though, I have a Bass Mafia 3700dd but I can definitely slim that one down. I'm definitely going for more organization on the kayak for this season. With the terminal tackle box, it has more compartments so I can fit everything for drop shots, ned rigs, carolina rigs, etc but the downside is there is no way to separate large hooks by size and style, there's only 3 compartments for them. Guess I'm gonna have to start eyeballing it, or just carry the EWGs with me normally. 90% of the time I'm using a regular EWG hook for a larger hook anyway.

I just ordered the rest of the line I will need for this year, which should arrive tomorrow and Monday. I also picked up a Plano Edge terminal tackle box after being rather impressed with the Plano Edge jig box late last year. I'll be switching over from the Bass Mafia box mainly because I can only fit so many Bass Mafia boxes in the Black Pak in my kayak and even then they're difficult to get in and out. I still do have loads of various tackle I need to sort through and organize. I helped the kids organize everything I got them for Christmas this year but haven't gone through my own. Looks like I'm going to do that on Monday when the last few things I bought arrive.

Bass and musky have co-existed for years. Unless muskies were fairly recently introduced, I wouldn't think they are the reason for the declining bass population.

My Tatula glass rods are listed as MH/R, but they are basically MH/MF rods. The MH/MF rods have a stiffer tip and you can get away with fishing a spinnerbait or chatterbait on them, where I wouldn't think about that on a MH/M rod but MH/M would be preferred for cranking. Of course, this is largely depending on the manufacturer, if they only make a MH/M it may be what others would call a MH/MF or vice versa as well.

Well if I take 5 rods on my kayak, I will likely have something like the following rigged up.. 1) Dropshot or Ned Rig 2) Jig and/or T-Rig 3) Spinnerbait 4) Squarebill 5) If I don't have a jig and t-rig, you a jerkbait or popper would be likely.

I have used many brands of spinnerbaits. My favorite all purpose sort of spinnerbaits are the War Eagles. I really like the River2Sea Ish Monroe Blings a lot too, they have a thinner wire which means that it can get bent but they put off a lot of vibration and flash and downright catch fish. The Terminator T1 titanium models were great but they no longer make them anymore but I still have a few left. Nichols Pulsators which are a compact size but work real well early and late in the season also deserve a mention. I've had good luck with the Strike King KVDs which also are a thinner wire spinnerbait. I also have a few Booyahs, my problem with them is not a lack of vibration but the skirts that come with them seem to tear apart abnormally fast for whatever reason.

I think the 21st is probably good. I don't have any real idea about my valentine's day plans around my kids hockey schedule and other things as it stands right now so I wouldn't be able to schedule anything this weekend.

Now that I think about it, I have technically just have one technique specific rods being a frog rod. It's a bit too much of a broomstick to do anything else. My flipping rod is the next closest thing. When I bought a jig rod for this season, I was considering that technique specific as that kind of action was something I was after primarily for jigs but it could also work well for Carolina rigs or heavier T-Rigs, especially dragging them on the bottom.

The chart above is about as much as you could ask for. I would not say any one presentation is wrong, but there is usually a range of rods you can use depending on preference, cover and a bunch of other factors. For example, I use a M/XF rod for poppers and jerkbaits which runs on the lighter side in terms of power and a H/F rod for frogs and we all know that heavy rods have their place for jig fishing and even sometimes T-Rigs as well.

A 1/4oz with a worm will cast beatutifully on most medium heavy rods. The weight of the soft plastic will put the total weight up to 1/2oz or so depending on the soft plastic used. I usually use 1/8oz myself with a MH rod unless I'm in deep water or sometimes where I know I need the extra casting distance.

A MH spinning rod will work great for 3/8 and 1/2oz spinnerbaits. With a medium you would want 3/8 or more ideally something like 5/16oz or 1/4, simply because most medium spinning rods are not as stout as their baitcasting counterparts.

My favorite all around is a Net Bait Paca Chunk. Rage Craws when I want a little more profile and similar action, Rage Bug for more profile and less action and Sweet Beavers when I want even less action.

Yeah, I figured that would be a pretty penny so I checked on boats.com. Basically any used one that floats is going to be more expensive than my house.

I have a few older model Tatula SVs and a Tatula CT. I set them up the same way, roughly the same brake settings, generally between 6 and 10 depending on conditions and the rod and bait size but they aren't too terribly dissimilar and I don't have any issues casting my CT even after using a SV for a while under normal conditions.
