What Pound Test Braided Line For A Baitcaster And What Rod To Pair With It
^^^+1^^^ 30lb minimum for braid on BC. 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid for all trebles. Your braid won't forgive you if you get "bass fever" and try to horse a fish on trebles. Mono or hybrid can help keep a fish pinned, especially if your brand of rod is a faster kind of fast.

Where I work they regularly succumb to lead poisoning.

Please Help Identify This Animal
I just looked it up. They have groundhogs, but they call them the "California Woodchuck" because everything is special there.

Your Go-To Lure
What?! You're the kind of guy that would tell someone, "Just eat one Pringle". I'm like Rain Man counting cards when I'm on the water.

Your Go-To Lure
@Pat Brown is 100% with his reasoning for choosing a plastic worm. It's a tough question because no conditions are mentioned. I'll have to go with a jig. It can be used in so many different ways, conditions, and locations.

Quality hooks inexpensive.
I've used the Academy H2O hooks but found that they don't stay sharp long at all and they will rust faster than better quality hooks. I'll buy Gama on sale but the best compromise of price and quality is definitely the VMC 25 packs of worm hooks. They stay sharp through a ton a fish and snags. Not going to say they are on the same level as Gama, but they don't ever cause me to lose fish. I use them from 2/0 to 5/0. The 2/0 are spectacular for Zoom finesse worms, Yamamoto Fat Baby craws, etc. They are thin and tough as heck for the size.

Truck/boat colors
Well, I made this post in 2018 and back then I went all matchy matchy and got a dark red truck with my dark red Ranger...but that truck was a rolling hunk of you-know-what and by the time I finally got rid of it I no longer cared about the color! I splurged and on my 50th birthday I bought my first brand new truck, a 2020 F150 in the color Leadfoot. It's now got 55,000 miles on it and it has been the best truck I've ever owned. Funny how things work out.

Non-ethanol gas price WAY higher
10% ethanol here swings from $3.20 to $3.70 here. The ethanol-free at the gas station the next small town over (5 miles away) goes for about $1.50 or so more and it's 91 octane. The ethanol-free at the marinas goes for about $2.50-$3.00 more per gallon.

Fishing in the wind - when is it too strong?
Great video! There's some tough love in this one! Stuff people need to hear and very well-worded by @Glenn. Wind speed numbers are actually the second thing I pay attention to. It's the lake that makes my choice for me. My spot closest to home I will spend all day on at 20-25mph. Another lake I fish regularly is 15mph MAX and if the wind is NW or SE then it's 10-12mph max.

was this a bite - lmb
If one of your hooks gets in some slime on a rock it can feel almost like a "pull" and sometimes even the most savvy angler will sweep on it, but in every instance of that you'll see some slime on your hook. If you felt a "pull" and had nothing hanging off of your lure when you got it back then you should carefully read Tom's @WRB comment above. If something is suddenly different, set the hook. I can't tell you what percentage of my biggest fish were caught because I swung when I didn't feel anything. Literally. It went from feeling like "something" to "nothing".

Will fish die if they swallow plastic worms?
No problem! I actually edited to fix my wording because it was poor. I appreciate it.

Did You Name Your Vessel...??
@Kirtley Howe maybe try Howes Aboat That?

Will fish die if they swallow plastic worms?
You misunderstood. I wasn’t calling you “that guy”. I was agreeing with you. I meant that the typical social media user will call you or I “that guy” if we try to encourage people to use correct terms. In fact my post even starts off with "Agree!".

Will fish die if they swallow plastic worms?
Agree! All stick baits are "Senkos". All vibrating jigs are "Chatterbaits". Everyone sets their "drag" to prevent backlashes and overruns. It seems like anyone on social media is "that guy" if they are a stickler for using proper terminology, but NOT using the correct terminology leads to a giant amount of misinformation. And not just for bass fishing. By the way, sorry that fish had a bait in his gut, but the Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm in june bug is one of my favorites so I'm glad to see they like eating it!

Changing our Valentines Day protocal.
All of our "nice" restaurants around here are packed on V-day so the wife and I went to a bourbon bar that has a food truck. We tried three new bourbons and had some fantastic street tacos and the place was less than half full. We agreed it was Valentine's Day perfection. Wow, I hope that's not some Freudian-thing slipping out of your subconscious! 😁 I think you're long-arming that balloon...

Help me find a new spinning rod, please and thank you.
Thanks, I was actually just looking at that rod on sale. It's in a cart along with a Lew's HM85. It's a tie right now.
