  1. "But you don’t feel bad when the hook goes thru their face? " You lost me. Okay, if the hook goes through their face I believe there is no reason to add to it by bouncing them multiple times on the deck and then bellyflopping them down on the water like you're mad at them. Not a good show of sportsmanship for the tv cameras. But it makes a good teaching moment for the grandsons.
  2. I just turned on a live Elite event. First thing I see is a guy culling a fish and hearing the fish smack the water when he dropped it overboard. Next thing is a guy boat flipping a fish and letting it flop around on the deck. I changed the channel. Edited to add: And during the cull the camera shot down into the well showed a fish belly up.
  3. I still find it more enjoyable to watch the water and the birds and beavers and otters and such than to sit with my eyes glued to the screen.
  4. From the financial pages, "China’s lead surplus to offset shortages in US and Europe" Reuters | June 14, 2022 The article also says Russia exported 110,000 tons in 2021 and half of it went to Europe.
  5. NAPA Aluminum Brighter. Okay I was curious about the acid content. Up to 9% on items one and two: Hazardous components 1. Phosphoric acid liquid Concentration 1 - 9 % (weight) CAS no. 7664-38-2 2. Sulfuric acid Concentration 1 - 9 % (weight) CAS no. 7664-93-9 3. Ammonium Bifluoride Concentration 1 - 5 % (weight) CAS no. 1341-49-7 4. ETHYLENE GLYCOL MONOBUTYL ETHER Concentration 1 - 5 % (weight) CAS no. 111-76-2
  6. I thought you meant help them when they were tired of treading water. I once gave a guy our last iced tea and our next to last bottle of water. The dog got the last bottle. He'd left his cooler in his truck and was a couple of miles from the ramp.
  7. I clicked your link again just now. Estimated delivery is now "FREE Prime delivery March 25 - 26", so they seem to be updating the info.
  8. And cleaning the black and green stains off white gutters and downspouts, too. And the mold and mildew off HardiPlank siding. Available in gallons, too.
  9. I ordered a Tatula LT 3000 and a Tatula LT 4000 from the ダイワ(DAIWA) Store on Sunday night 1/15/23 along with some other unrelated household stuff on the same Amazon order. One reel came on 1/17 and one on 1/18. Of course, we're surrounded by numerous Amazon facilities. The holdup is probably at the factory.
  10. "I am shocked that so many of you are willing to buy a rod online without touching, holding, or inspecting it before you buy it. " I was shocked when I ordered my first Shimano/Loomis Conquest. And the second, third and fourth, too.
  11. My Maxxum 70 and Endura Max 55 use the same prop, so I only carry one spare. I also have a spare for my seldom used Merc 9.9 4-stroke.
  12. They make one rod that's 6'9" and sell it to all the people who can't decide whether they want a 7' or a 6'6". Or, they make one 7' blank. They make a rod out of that. Then they take the same blank and cut 3" off the tip and that's a different rod. Then they cut 3" off the butt and that's a third rod. Then they cut 1.5" off the butt and 1.5" off the tip and the next thing you know you've purchased all 4 rods because they're all different. Obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about, but all these nearly identical rods are coming from somewhere.
  13. "If I wasn’t a fisherman I could own land!" Then you would have to mow it. Fishing is better.
  14. Johnbt - the b stands for bighead
  15. I wanted 3 new Reel Glove spinning reel covers. To get free shipping I needed to buy an additional $10. Okay, so I ordered 2 more spinnerbaits. LIke I don't already have two bins of the things. They jumped right on it and almost immediately notified me that the 5 items would come in 2 packages. I got the first package today. I forgot to mention that there was no paper, no plastic, no peanuts, etc.
  16. Well, I have two new untested Daiwa JDM baitcasters with Boost - a Steez and a Zillion - and 2 reasonably recent Steez TW SV models, and two Metaniums that I put new gears in, but you know what, as much as I really like these reels, my 3 2013 ABU Garcia Gen 3 Revo Premiers all still work just fine. For spinning, I have always used Penn, Shimano and Daiwa. For largemouth I use primarily Daiwa and some Shimano. I may have to give the 5th gen redesigned Revo a look. I just saw a pic of it.
  17. I was trying to stick to the parameters of the question. "200kHz vs. 77kHz "
  18. I copied the following from somewhere 5 years ago. I neglected to save the site. "When you fish 20 to 60 feet, your transducer frequency should be set to 200 khz. From 60 to 70 feet or so, you can change back and forth between 200 and 83 and see for yourself which frequency is showing the best detail. When you get into water deeper than 70 feet you will normally find that 83 khz will give you a better picture of the bottom. The higher the frequency the better the detail but the easier the sound is absorbed by the water. This is why a lower frequency like 83 khz will show the bottom in deeper water but not in as much detail as you saw in shallower water with the 200 khz. Ken Sauret Lowrance Pro Staff"
  19. "A/R is for sissies" Cheap insults are for sissies.
  20. "I sometimes do an old school trip too." I would go old school, but I can't find a six pack of Schlitz that was made before they changed the brew formula in the 1970s and went out of business in '81 and sold out the Stroh's in '82.
  21. There's one small private 30-acre pond/lake where I carry my 8' to 12' Fiskars pole pruner.
  22. And from the Regency site: "TRAILER $6500."
  23. But it's a nice pontoon. Look at that upholstery. And 300 hp to push it. And it's on sale!!!
  24. No transom mounts. I bought an Endura Max 55 a few years ago and it's great. I just googled them; they're a lot more expensive I see.
  25. I can buy a lot of nice rods and reels for $2k Page 18 has $3350 off on a nice Regency pontoon. It comes with a Merc 300 Verado, but no trailer. Only $99,995.
