  1. Forgive my stupidity but I assume this is correct?
  2. Were those Vengeance rods 6'6" or did they actually have any 7'0?
  3. Unless others can give me reason to think differently then that's what I'll go with. Looks like TW has them in size 1, 2 and 3. However I've read all the posts I can find about them here on Bass Resource and I've seen guys post pictures of them in the package and it says it is size "2.3" and such. What's up with that?
  4. I think I am going to try these and see what I think. With a wife, 8 year old and 4 year old that I have to do everything for when we are out fishing anything I can do to reduce my time without a line in the water is a welcome thing. I am leaning away from the model with the swivel I think but I have no idea which size to go with. Can anyone point me to the correct size to go with? They mostly would through moving baits like lipless cranks, chatterbaits, squarebills and such. The other things they'd use like worms or spinner baits I wouldn't look to use one. Just anything I can to save time.
  5. $15.99 at my local Academy!
  6. While I'm sure there is one what is a good reason for this switch anyway? Why would I want to just "let it go" as it were?
  7. Scheels has their SLX rods on sale for $60 versus their normal $100 right now on their website.
  8. Nice! I hit the same kind of place Saturday. Walked the bank and threw a spinnerbait for about 2. 5 hours with nothing. Threw a red lipless for a bit and while I did only get 1 bite it was a little over 2 lbs so it wasn't all bad.
  9. Why do some rods you buy have guides that sit at an angle (like the photo I attached) and some are level? Just curious.
  10. Today I'll be on the bank and I was thinking to try to find a clear spot of water and try a fluke or a spinner bait primarily. Only time will tell I guess.
  11. Who's going out today? What presentation do you imagine is the winner in conditions like this?
  12. This illustration is very helpful! From the look of things, though, would it be rougher on the plastic to where it would not last as long? Just looks like it would tear through it a lot more on a hook set.
  13. In those examples why do you "skip" the 4/0?
  14. This is all great info but I still do not understand why I would need a light wire for this? Again, not saying you guys are wrong I am just trying to understand the reasoning. Looking at these Roboworms it looks like the light wires are only available in a 1/0 why is that? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Roboworm_Rebarb_Hooks/descpage-RWRBH.html
  15. You both have mentioned something a bit thinner/more finesse for this application. What is the the thought process behind this?
  16. Probably a senko, a trick worm or a Mann's Jelly? Was hoping the type I tried didn't "care" whether it was fluoro or braid that I was using as I could see me possibly using both at times.
  17. Is a Missile D-Bomb to big/beefy to use on a shakeyhead in your opinion? What about something like a Biffle Hardhead?
  18. I've always used a 4/0 EWG (usually a Gammy) for T-rigging a worm or something. Going to experiment with a straight shank this year. Anyone got a recommendation?
  19. I may give these a try. I am thinking this would be a great option on my wife and kids rods so I don't spend so much time swapping out baits for them (when they complain after 5 casts the reason they did not catch anything is that lure) giving me more time to fish!
  20. A lot of guys suggested the Daiwa Aird X and I happened to be at Academy today and checked it out. Also saw a cheaper option while there of the Daiwa Laguna. Anyone know much about that rod?
  21. Primarily moving baits like lipless cranks, spinnerbaits, square bills, chatterbait, possibly drag a worm and such. Just a cheap but solid all around option.
