  1. Powell rods are pretty good for the $140 dollar price range. I havent tried the Crucials though so i cant compare the two.
  2. Red eye shad in whatever color the forage base is and a t-rigged power worm (7 or 10") depending on the size bass that you are catching.
  3. Powell 7' H EF rod Abu Revo SX 17lb Triline 100% Fluorocarbon 1/2 to 1 oz Skinny Bear Elite Football Jig or for grass i switch the Fluro to 65lb braid and a 1/2 davis swim jig w/ paca chunk
  4. They store tackle...yeah. But there are much better ways to do that than these.
  5. The only way to solve to pickerel problem is to not put them back in the lake. We catch gar around here and he snap them in half and throw them back in the water.
  6. The doozie works great on a shakey head for bedding fish.
  7. Get one of the lip grips. They work great for weighing fish and when you fish around big stripers, catfish, and drum you have to have them.
  8. Shakey head or skinny bear elite football jig for spots. White Spinner bait or 1/4 Oldham's Trailor Hitch Jig in the weeds or steep banks for largemouth.
  9. Let it sink for 5 seconds and kinda twitch your rod tip like you do when your spinnerbait hits the water and then reel steadily all the back to the boat. Usually it doesnt take a pause because the spots are so aggressive. I fish them around and stump rows in 8-10 feet of water. And because my water is kinda dingy around here i use the Peacock color.
  10. I have two of the smaller size and they work great! Just give it time.
  11. I did that as soon as i took it out of the package. It seems like something is wrong. I have heard people talk about how great these are and im kind of frustrated.
  12. Thats a nice smallmouth. Closest smallmouth to me are up by RW.
  13. You sure that carp is 20lbs? It looks a little bit smaller than that.
  14. What pound line do you prefer with these? I was using 15lb cxx the other day and all i got was a bunch of wobbling but no buzzing.
  15. Those look sweet. Why do we get the boring looking reels and they get those?
  16. JigNBig replied to BIG M's topic in Tacklemaking
You could make a fortune with those baits. Nice Job!
  17. You could also try flukes. The strikes you can get with those are fun to watch and all size bass eat them.
  18. What is this ice stuff yall speak of? Snow here is a miracle from heaven it seems like.
  19. 4/0 Owner. Just a thicker wired hook. I have straightened out gammies but you will never straighten an Owner.
  20. Jigs and schooling spotted bass with topwaters and red eye shads
  21. have you experimented with wacky rigging worms vs just rigging through the head?
  22. For grass, i like to you 65lb braid and a swimming jig unless you are fishing matted grass. The stick ups and over hangs i would use the bitsy bugs on 10 or 12 lb fluorocarbon and make repeated casts to each one before you move on.
  23. If your fishing a crankbait, you have to hit something. Throw a crankbait that runs deep enough to contact the bottom. If your looking for suspended or schooling fish use either a topwater or a lipless crankbait.
  24. i tried mine with a 4/0 rigged tail up and tail down and i still couldnt get it to look natural like I first thought when i bought them.
