try a gold with black back crankbait or rattle trap and one of those chartruese super shads by booyah to fish a little deeper. also try 7in and 10 in worms
  6. try the BPS football screw jigheads
  7. try a 1 oz black/blue flipping jig with a large grub trailor and swin it or jig it
  8. try berkley xt mono. work very well in cover and out of cover. get some clear 12-17 lb depending on what kind of fishing your doing
  9. try fishing a large xrap. cast it out and work it up to the weed bed the let it sit for about 5 secs them reel back in
  10. if you are fishing clear water that may become a factor unless your are flipping cover and moving very quickly. otherwise i would try it out and it should be just like mono. another good choice is spiderwire and for spinning reels try fireline crystal in 6-10lb test

thanks for all the tips. for the guy who said fish deeper structure, i have caught numerous bass with a bomber fat free shad over the only grass bed in the lake. one thing i forgot to mention in my original statement is that in the particular lake the bass are no more than 4 lbs. ANOTHER QUESTION REGARDING BEDDING BASS since the lake is quit small and the bass gobble topwater are there any particularly good topwater baits that will cause a reaction strike while the bass are on the beds
