  7. MR, Don't know much about Killer Bees except how aggressive they are and moving North from South America :-/. When a hive starts getting too crowded the Queen will allow a queen larve to form, after reaching adulthood she will take part of the workers leave to make another hive. Nearing evening the Queen will stop and all the workers surround her for warmth. That's what you see in pics. of a big ball of bees. Actually had that happen in a tree behind our house one year. Really interesting creatures. Unbelievably important for our food crops!!! As Ever, skillet BTW If any of ya'll know different from this, please put in your $.02
  8. Would have thought you had been around long enough to know that the only thing fishermen are better at than stretching the truth is coming up with excuses ;D!!! As Ever, skillet
  9. Thanks MF! If it weren't for what I remember (have slept since then :-[) about the shape and mouth could readily agree. Never know for sure. Do know how excited I got ! Nice fish plus it being different looking... As Ever, skillet BTW thanks again. Wasn't sure about tht Spot and KY question
  10. If I can remember to use it :-[! Whenever I try to find info about a subject, it is like opening the floodgates! It's GREAT! There is something to be said for libraries, encyclopedias and other research tools. Sometimes, it seemed like what you were looking for , just wasn't there . Not a problem with the NET... As Ever, skillet
  11. We live way out in the country and I noticed how each year there were fewer honey bees than the year before. Then for a couple of years there were literally none. I thought it was the problem of some kind of mite getting into the hives and killing the bees. This year seems like they had completely recovered . From first warm spell of Spring they were everywhere. Even had stories on the news about huge swarms traveling to make new nests. Didn't think they swarmed unless too many for old nest :-/. Is this a new problem that's affecting them??? As Ever, skillet
  12. What fathom said X2! Man, that's all I need, a "friend" like that ;D. Wish I had a Compre for my Symetre . Hope you like your Symetre as much as I do mine ... As Ever, skillet

  14. I started out (70's) using the shorter rods and never changed over. If you can get comfortable (it can be done) with that length it would be great. Then you could save that $$$ for Bananna Breath's cousin, Boat Monkey ;D... As Ever, skillet
  15. You folks that live that far North have a stronger constitution (or really good meds) than me. If the weather hadn't broke by now, I would have taken a note from searoach and taken a sledge to something, ANYTHING :-[... As Ever, skillet

  22. I was wondering about the carb? Hope your stars are aligned just right and all you have to do is clean it good . Have been looking at older used boat. Fella says it has been sitting for several (pretty relative term :-/). Worried about fuel system ... As Ever, skillet
  23. The first one I caught that I noticed this was years ago at a small gravel pit in Olive Branch MS. They have since filled it in and I think it's now a park >. The reason I remember it so well was that I hooked it on a Mepps 3 and she threw it and went back a week later and caught her in the same place and same bait . I really wondered about the fish because of the eyes, seemingly smaller mouth and shorter really fat football shape (real heavy for length). Caught another one about a week ago in a pond near me. It had the red eyes but looked more like a lage mouth than the first one (not near the size). Thanks for the interest and the help my friends.... As Ever, skillet
  24. Never cared for that one (mag, series, movies or car). Don't know if you have seen any of these. Try Rodz or Rod and Custom Culture. Like both of them ... As Ever, skillet
  25. skillet replied to skillet's topic in Fishing Reports
Thanks everyone ! It was a great feeling when you set the hook and KNOW you're in for a ride, and feels just as good when you slip her back in the water and watch her swim off... As Ever, skillet
