  1. Won't be any help at all (have no idea where these lakes are ;D). Would like to say WELCOME to the forums!!! Glad you've got someone like rondef to help... As Ever, skillet
  2. Thanks ya'll!! It was a really pretty Crappie ... As Ever, skillet
  3. No, didn't get girth :-[. Actually didn't know if the formula that works on Bass worked on other species. Have a hard plastic tackle box with ruler on top was all I had. If it had been a LARGE Bass though, come Hell or high water I would have found a way ;D. When young fished a lot for Bream and Crappie with my Daddy. Just thought if not the largest Crappie I've caught, pretty durn close ... As Ever, skillet

  5. Yo-zuri Ultrasoft is a copoly (nylon and floro). A lot less stretch than mono and more than pure floro or braid. Really like it (just started using it)! Casts really well and very little memory... As Ever, skillet
  6. Just another for Yo-zuri Us!!! Put 6lb on spinning reel and 12lb on baitcaster... As Ever, skillet
  7. Have watched TV shows of fishing for peacocks in South America and FLA. Have ALWAYS wanted to visit in FLA where I could give them a try! After reading your post, bocabasser, I have to do it TOMORROW ... As Ever, skillet
  8. Took some light spinning gear to a pond near me today. Using small floating minnow (2 1/2') was going to try for some Bream or small Bass. Retrieved a cast almost all the way back and caught a glimpse of a large fish as it flashed sideways and ate the lure! Butt pinched a doughtnut hole in my jeans, thought it was a Bass and knew there was no way to handle it with the gear I was using. Realized it had to be something else after the first time it tried to run. Turned out to be LARGE Crappie. Don't have a scale but it was little more than 15" long and about 7" at widest part. You could drop a golf ball in it's mouth ! Any of ya'll that fish for Crappie a lot....maybe take a guess as to size... As Ever, skillet

  23. I put 12 lb. on my Citica and it casts great and very little or no memory. Have to use it more to have opinion on strength... As Ever, skillet BTW Probably shouldn't say "no memory". None compared to anything I've used before
  24. Man, what a shine ! I really love me some Mother's but wouldn't it take quite a bit for a boat. I've used it on my '67 Chevy truck wheels, bumpers and other chrome. I haven't found anything better... As Ever, skillet
