  1. Got some this winter and used them for the first time as 1/4 oz. jig trailers. Colored black with blue flakes (blueberry I think), caught a number of fish and one real nice 3 1/2. If you run the hook a little further before bringing it out, they'll rare back in a defensive pose... As Ever, skillet
  2. Thank the Lords of Fishing, nothing lately!!! I'm probably one of only several folks with the ability to lose a "snagless" rubber frog . Yep, been there done that. Fishing from the bank mostly is one of the reasons I'm not just great with crankbaits. In my younger days when I just knew that if not immortal I was pretty close to invincible (have sinced learned differently ), I would get wet over a snagged lure. Folks hate loseing Lucky Crafts, I get my bowels in an uproar over a Rapala!!! As Ever, skillet

  8. 32251, Fishing with my Father when I was a kid, we would use a set-up like that for bream because you could pick it straight up and not hang up near as often. It has really been a long time since I've seen the quills for bobbers ... As Ever, skillet BTW Apologize for hijacking the thread :-X
  9. CONGRATULATIONS that is really something to be proud of! Whatever you're doing, keep doing it ... As Ever, skillet
  10. ww2farmer, NO WAY my friend! That's as close to "REAL" as I want ;D!!! As Ever, skillet
  11. Like the others have said you can fish old river runs or go into Miss. or Ark. There are some state run lakes in W. Tenn. and they are all (I think) electric motors only or no-wake. If you have never seen the Miss. R. here, when you do you'll understand why I say don't even think about it unless you go with someone who REALLY knows it. It is HUGE ! WELCOME to the forums!!! 12. It was great to have such a beautiful snow! They're usually not near that nice. They never last much more than a day, two at the most and then they're gone which is why we never have to shovel the stuff ... As Ever, skillet
  13. Week or so ago was at a local pond and caught one on a no. 10 Husky Jerk that was only 1" longer and maybe 1/2 again bigger than said bait . Memories are a very large part and WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  14. Don't have any advice, just wanted to wish you the best of luck !!! As Ever, skillet
  15. The only time I've caught any was back when I was really young fishing with my Father for Bream. We would be pulled way up in the willows on the shallow end of an old river run. Useing cane poles and you reach as far as you can to get on the other side of a log or something and one would grab your bait and head for the wild blue yonder. There wasn't much you could do to stop one either ;D! There are sites on the internet aimed at nothing but grinnel (what they call them around here). I don't know how you would target them, I've only caught them by accident... As Ever, skillet
  16. You ought to see it out here in Shelby Forest !!! As Ever, skillet

Yea, I can just see it now. That skirt with 6" stilleto heels and black opera-net hose (and the plumber's crack ). Wonder if Elaine knows what she's in for ..... As Ever, skillet BTW Thanks dumbdog11, Matt 5.0 for the help and the rest of you for the pic. in my head that I'll have nightmares over tonight (if not for the next couple of months :)

Does anyone have anything they are partial to for changing out the skirt on a Hula Popper? As Ever, skillet
  23. There are quite a few of them on ebay (vintage). I really didn't think anyone made them anymore. Like someone said earlier, there was a time when if you didn't have one in your tacklebox you weren't much of a Bass fisherman... As Ever, skillet
  24. I've got 2 of them (got them on sale). IMHO If you can get them on sale I don't think you can come up with anything better!! At reg. price, if you can add a little $$, there are better... As Ever, skillet
  25. I probably would. I like fishing for Bass but I LOVE fishing ... As Ever, skillet
