Memphis and surrounding area is built on 1 of 5 tall bluffs right East of the Miss. River. Seems like in the past the storms would come across Ark. hit the bluffs and mostly go up and over Memphis. They still go over Downtown but lately have been coming down sooner ... As Ever, skillet

I fish mostly from the bank so I use only 5'6" or 6' because of all the trees, vines, stumps, underbrush and anything else that wants to get in my way. Actually have always used those lengths and really like them. I don't have to heave a lure a country mile like a lot of the other guys and I think your accuracy is a lot better on them. Depending on your budget, I like Shimano and have a Citica on 1 of my rods. Great reel . Hope this helps... As Ever, skillet
