  1. You'll probably get as many replies as asking "best line" so I'll muddy the water more. IMHO I like more natural colors just lighter or darker (kind of like what RW said). I think presentation is more important... As Ever, skillet BTW now all the members that love chartruse or electric blue can send me hate mail ;D
  2. Only if it was Real Tree ;D!!! As Ever, skillet
  3. Like the new icon ... As Ever, skillet
  4. Memphis and surrounding area is built on 1 of 5 tall bluffs right East of the Miss. River. Seems like in the past the storms would come across Ark. hit the bluffs and mostly go up and over Memphis. They still go over Downtown but lately have been coming down sooner ... As Ever, skillet
  5. Really would be better with little more info. Budget comes to mind. I've tried to wait till Bass Pro has it's sale in the Spring. Got 2 Bionic Blades. One year $40 and then $50 the next. There are better rods out there but not for that price.IMHO ... As Ever, skillet
  6. WELCOME to the forums!!! Down there last June for daughter's wedding. Didn't know anyone with a boat . Would sure liked to have tried Stick Marsh or 1 of the others mentioned... As Ever, skillet
  7. Glad you're OK RW. Thought about you when I heard where it was coming thru. We actually got more wind and rain when the 2nd front came thru. This must have been about 10:00. Seems like the last several spells of bad weather we've had have been morwe south than usual... As Ever, skillet
  8. Pencil Pusher it seriously was a good post on the subject at hand except for 1 thing. I joined this Board to interact with other bass fishermen (and women) and most others did to. If the people that post regularly only posted 79 times a year there wouldn't be much interaction IMHO ... As Ever, skillet BTW Even in "real life" most folks have to be taken with at least a grain of salt...
  9. Doesn't really come close to the age of the reels that ya'll are talking about. I have an Abu-Garcia Ultramag 1 from '82 that I'm still using (5:1 gears)... As Ever, skillet

Man, I've got even more in common with quite a few folks on the forums than I thought. It was always HARD to admit in a group of most folks. I'm asportual .. As Ever, skillet BTW Seriously, can't remember the last time I watched anything on TV
  13. The old saying "if you don't like the weather, wait 1/2 hour and it will change" has always been the norm in late Winter and Spring in the Midsouth... As Ever, skillet
  14. Congratulations !!! Have learned much from your posts... As Ever, skillet
  15. I fish mostly from the bank so I use only 5'6" or 6' because of all the trees, vines, stumps, underbrush and anything else that wants to get in my way. Actually have always used those lengths and really like them. I don't have to heave a lure a country mile like a lot of the other guys and I think your accuracy is a lot better on them. Depending on your budget, I like Shimano and have a Citica on 1 of my rods. Great reel . Hope this helps... As Ever, skillet
