  3. I fought with my neurosurgeon forever and it finally got to the point of taking a real good chance on crippling myself. Went ahead with the surgery and have had no regrets. Every now and then it'll get me ! It was about 7 or 8 months ago and I was goning to buy some new jeans. Went into the dressing room to try them on. Got my pants off and started putting a new pair on. Got 1 leg on and started to put the other leg on and went to the floor! You know all those little things that seem to bother you sometimes...I immediately forgot all about them. My wife had to come in and help :-[. Figured I would have to buy the pants, couldn't get the damned things off ;D. Thankfully it was OK in a couple of days. Except for small instances like that, I'm better, I guess :-/ ... 14. Have enjoyed reading for as long long time. Can remember the "Wind in the Willows" series from grade school. I think the only way I made it thru English classes, we had 1/2 year of grammer and 1/2 year of literature. Never did worth a d**n in grammer and did great in lit. Can still quote introduction to Canterbury Tales in old English Hate it when I have finished all the books an author has written. It's like loosing a friend. Read fantasy novels and series for years. Kind of hung up in detective novels now. Really liked Dan Brown's books. Thought "Angels and Demons" was the best. Thought all the facts and history he threw in it and "DaVinci Code" was a real plus and helped make it so believable. If not mistaken his wife is an art historian. That should have really helped him. The only thing that bothered me is if you picked the number 1 person who shouldn't be the bad guy, he was! Realizing this after reading the 2nd book, kind of killed it for me in the next 2... It's bad enough when someone has made it to a "ripe" old age and lived a full life. At that age it goes beyond bad to tragic. RIP... As Ever, skillet
  18. When I turned 16 I was 6'4" around 200 lbs. and not long after bought a 59 MG A. I could look over the windshield or drag my knuckles on the ground. Then it was a problem with clothes. Since folks have gotten larger, not too much of a problem anymore. When I came home from the Army I had lost so much weight, in shirts, I wore 15-15 1/2 with 36 arm length. That was a problem ! Back up to 200 so I really don't have a lot of problems. Guess the only one is clothes cost more at big and tall stores.

  20. Folks can get strange ideas about other parts of the country. I've lived my whole life in Memphis (TN) except for about year and a half in San Diego, in the early 70s. I had a couple of folks out there ask me if "one of my legs was shorter than the other"? At first didn't understand and just blew it off. Another person asked and I said what do you mean. She said "you know...from running up and down ridges" :-? :-?. Finally understood, most folks there thought all of TN was mountains. Memphis is flat enough to think anything higher than the local cemetary plot is a hill! As Ever, skillet
