  2. When you put the split shot 18" or 24" above the hook, do you have any problems when pulling it over brush or limbs? When the weight is on one side and the worm is on the other side.. As Ever, skillet

Friends & Neighbors, Usually I seem to prefer more natural colored baits and that goes for top water baits to. Ol' Banana Breath convinced me that I needed a Spook Jr. and thought I would ask about colors. Could I get some feed back on colors ya'll like for Spooks? Thanks ... As Ever, skillet

  11. IMHO being anti-establishment does not make you anymore unpatriotic than being pro-establishment makes you patriotic. You can have differing views on a subject and still care about the subject the same. Like the bumper sticker from that same time period "America, Love It or Leave It". You do not leave or desert something or someone you love. If you don't agree with the direction that something or someone is taking, you work to try and change the direction... As Ever, skillet BTW Just personal views of a Veteran Not my intent to start something or get on a soapbox. Apologize if I did ...
  12. Thanks Catt, for taking the time to post these facts. GREAT info... As Ever, skillet BTW that is a great program Texas has...
  13. Speaking of taking a chance on killing one, aren't they a really long lived fish. Beautiful fish to add to the ones you've already shown us ! You've sure got a GREAT attitude about them... As Ever, skillet
  14. Sounds like a great plan! Be safe and have a ball . If you can do that while skiing ;D... As Ever, skillet
  15. IMHO it sounds like you've got a pretty good handle on the weight thing, unless you get into deeper water or heavier vegetation (weights might need to go up a little then). I normally fish pretty skinny water. I like the jig for the first of your last 2 questions. Last, when the fish are wanting something that isn't raising as much commotion and you can let the toads drop down into open places in the vegetation (good trick ). Hope this helps ... 16. One day as I sat musing sad and lonely, a voice came to me from out of the gloom saying "Cheer up, things could be worse." So, I cheered up, and sure enough... things got WORSE :-? :-? ;D... As Ever, skillet BTW most of us here have had one of those months. We're always here
  17. LBH, Have really liked all types of plants and trying to get them to thrive. Favorites are Ferns and Cactus (Succlents), opposite ends of the spectrum. Lot of plant folks aren't really crazy about cactus. They are in a group of plants called succlents. All cactus are succlents but not all succlents are cactus . One of the reasons I admire them so much is how adaptive they are to different environments. Probably the largest family in the plant kingdom, from small and pretty to large ang scary looking. Haven't been to that site you mentioned. The last one I got was named Confederate Rose (beautiful plant, Succlent)... As Ever, skillet

  22. BTW should have mentioned that I was going today to get my black buzzbait out of a tree where I lost it yesterday trying to make a "long cast" :-[ ;D... As Ever, skillet
  23. Just lately caught first 2 fish on a buzzbait. First was only about a pound but the second was a real good 3 1/2, maybe a little more ! Great way to catch Bass! I've had my Symetre 2500 for about a year and a half. Still think it's GREAT! Congrats on your buzzbait fish... As Ever, skillet
  24. Sam, I thought that type behaviour "go to the grocery store and then drive into a ditch" was pretty much here in the Mid-South ;D... As Ever, skillet
  25. LBH, You said that most Capt. take those loins because they are mostly Grade B. Do they usually turn out the same way yours did when cooked? Is Grade B inferior to the rest of the fish? My daughter lived in the Keys and said if you ever ate fresh Tuna you'd never have anything else (she likes sushi though). Living in Memphis I know the steaks we get are anything but "fresh", they are still the best fish I've ever had on the grill... As Ever, skillet
