Got up at about 4 this morning and was going to give this pond and Ribbits (first time using toads) a try. It was still dark when I got there so I tied a black Jitterbug and threw that for a while. Caught 3 that might nudge 1 1/2. Started getting light so I tied a 5/0 hook and a Ribbit. Boy, do they cast great. Little feet just kicking water like crazy, great sound. If you pull them across weeds floating on the top and the Ribbit turns upside down, it will right itself once you get to an opening. Falls nice and slow when you let it and comes back to the surface real quick, little feet just getting it. Great so far .......... DIDN'T GET A STRIKE THE WHOLE DURNED TIME I HAD IT TIED ON :'( :'(!!! Maybe Next Time As Ever, skillet
  2. Used Rouges for a long time and liked them, they still have great colors. It seems lately that I have a really hard time getting them to work worth a durn even a fter trying to "tune" them. I guess I'll have to say Husky Jerks. Have never had a problem with one (actually any Rapala)... As Ever, skillet
  3. I have the Symetre 1500 and it would wind level out of the box. Like you said the instructions said only if you want to change the winding :-?... As Ever, skillet
  4. Them's fightin' words BROTHER !!! ;DJoking ;D. Have 2 bought last year Symetre and Citica and real glad there were no problems with them... As Ever, skillet
  5. Have never fished a Cardiff so take this with a grain of salt . I have the Citica (200D) on a 6'M Bionic Blade and really like it. Catt, I know, puts more hours and catches larger fish on his rig than I do on mine. The funny thing is he likes his for just the opposite reason I like mine. I have large hands and still like the low-profile for the way I can palm it and like the higher speed 6.3:1 on the Citica. Go figure ;D!!! As Ever, skillet BTW to adjust brakes, under side plate which is hinged

  7. First off, just wanted to say how much I like the new pic . You must have been a plumber in another life ;D. I have put one too many things back together and had at least one nut, washer or bolt left over :-[. I'm REALLY thankful there people like Reel Mech around ... As Ever, skillet
  8. The only time I've caught one was back when I was a young boy cane pole fishing for Bream with my Father. They put up quite a battle and on a skinny piece of bamboo you thought Moby Dick just did a belly-flop next to the boat. I found a website where folks were trying to catch them. I've never known anyone catching one except when they were fishing for something else... As Ever, skillet
  9. Keep it up ;D ;D!!! As Ever, skillet
  10. Won't be much help with your question. I'm one of those old f**ts that makes do with 2 set-ups :-[. Just wanted to say WELCOME to the forums... As Ever, skillet
  11. It's not just "certain species of fish on baits they do not usually hit" . If I ever need to fill an aquarium cheap, I'm going fishing with you ;D!!! As Ever, skillet
  12. I have noticed the difference myself. It's gotten a little more intense than jokeing about which possee you're on. Myself, I hope it swings back in that direction. I am definitely not indifferent to this subject. One of the main reasons I joined this group was the lack of "bashing" that went on... As Ever, skillet
  13. Already have friends you've "talked" with and never met... As Ever, skillet
  14. I was hopeing it was good ! I've liked a lot of the movies she was in. "Red Dragon" would have been better if she had played Clarisse again. "A nice Chianti with your liver and fava beans"... As Ever, skillet

  18. If you like Shimano (I do )you could get a Citica and still have money for a decent St. Croix or All Star... As Ever, skillet
  19. I fish mostly from the bank. Very rarely fish crank baits because of losing them. When I was younger (and had a beautiful body, which has long since gone bad ;D) would go after them. Have stopped that for the duration. Will fish top water with trebles because you can pretty much see what you're getting into. Rely on jig&pig or soft plastics and always T-rig them like Jimzee79 said... As Ever, skillet
  20. Don't know about the taste (try some) but unless it catches run off from cultivated fields (in the country) or from roads and such (closer to a town) I would think it would be OK... As Ever, skillet

  22. I'm not sure about size of blade compared to weight of head but I just bought a Strike King with 3 "wings" and I can almost slow it down to gurgle like a jitterbug (almost is a key word here ). All jokeing aside, I'm really happy with it... As Ever, skillet
