  1. If this gets out, I'll probably have to move (being from the South)! Like you, I know I couldn't name 3 ;D... As Ever, skillet
  2. I fish Baby Brush Hogs a lot and I'm pretty sure it's bream getting the tails. The only problem is (can't answer your question) my OCD kicks in when I loose any part of a bait and I change it out :-[ :-[... As Ever, skillet
  3. Thanks Matt !!! As Ever, skillet
  4. I think it's more likely folks aren't familiar with those rods ... As Ever, skillet
  5. I thought I was the only one that had that light bulb turn on over my head when I heard about putting the tag end back thru the hook eye. Man, did I feel DUMB :-[!!! As Ever, skillet
  6. Really showing my age here . When I started bass fishing and a number of yrars after 'glass was all there was ;D. Haven't picked one up in quite a while though. I think I would go with the 5'6" or a 6' if they had it. I'm kinda sold on Shimano but Pflueger makes a nice reel also... As Ever, skillet BTW Don't tell any of the guys in the Shimano posse I said that ;D
  7. Better late than never, HAPPY B-DAY !!! As Ever, skillet

  10. WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  11. I'll muddy the water a little more ;D. I always use a palomar knot because I never got use to tieing any loop knot. My baitcaster is a righty and my spinning is a lefty and don't have a problem with either. Jimmy Houston mentioned he could make one walk in one direction like under a dock . Sure wish I could do that ... As Ever, skillet
  12. It gets better!!! Going on 30 ... As Ever, skillet
  13. That was great! If you come up with anymore let us have 'em... As Ever, skillet
  14. Fishing with my parents when I was young, never failed that if we passed a herd of cows on the way my Momma would comment on whether they were standing or laying down. If standing we were supposed to catch fish, if not no fish. Have no idea how the cows knew ;D... As Ever, skillet
  15. You might try going slower while you are learning. As Avid said make sure you have slack in your line when you snap the rod tip towards you .. As Ever, skillet
  16. Whenever I've caught them, it was while fishing for Crappie with minnows. Was in FLA the first of this month and got to go fishing for Red Fish. Caught a couple and told my friend that they sure looked like Drum and he said they were. Also said that in the winter they fished for Black Fish or Black Drum (I forget :-[) only fishing deeper. Is this a case of one man's trash being another man's treasure? No offense meant to those folks out there that like Drum :... As Ever, skillet
  17. You will be missed by a great many folks !!! Hope to hear from you soon!!! As Ever, skillet
  18. At night, I'll go out on the patio in back (dark as the inside of a dead cow) and smoke a cig. I know about half the time there are probably deer out there, and every time there is, I'll be standing there minding my own business a buck will stomp and snort reall loud and my butt will pinch a do-nut hole in my jeans ;D... As Ever, skillet
  19. Guess I'm showing my age, but I've wondered for years how you could pull that off with one of those old console TVs :-/... As Ever, skillet
  20. Being paranoid really is a help (sometimes ;D). Time to put in a call to a business associate of mine, Guido and his knee capping partner :... As Ever, skillet
  21. Went in a pet store not long ago and headed for the fish section. They had a Peacock Bass (about 6") in a tank by itself and was asking $69 for it. At that price, I hope it did tricks! The fella that was working there said that they were from the Cichlid family . Was wondering if anyone knew if there was any truth to this or just BS... As Ever, skillet
  22. Congrats on your first with soft plastic. Most of my fishing is done from the bank and I depend on soft plastics more than any other type of bait... As Ever, skillet
  23. Congrats on your first. If you keep using them, it won't be your last! I always thought a jig n pig was IT and then found Brush Hogs. I still like the bigger looking profile of the jig but i find myself using the hogs T-rigged more often... As Ever, skillet
  24. Have heard many good things said about both reels on here. I own a Symetre on a 6' MH rod and think it's GREAT and would recomend it to anyone... As Ever, skillet
  25. T-rigged with 1/8 weight and spinning gear. T-rigged 3/16 and 1/4 with bait casting gear. I use them anywhere you would use a jig n pig and try to imitate crawfish moves. IMHO Green Pumkin and Watermelon Seed are the colors to use. 3/0 EWG hooks As Ever, skillet BTW Regular Brush Hogs are great also!
