R-E-S-P-E-C-T
I have seen a few posts (not just new guys) that definitely could have been worded better Ceph >. The worst were really mild compared to what I've seen on other boards. I'm not positive of the ones you mentioned but I try to put some of it down to not being able to hear voice quality or facial expressions (the others you have to just consider the source ;D).... Jerry Lee
I have been a fan of Jerry Lee Lewis for longer than I care to admit so when his new CD ("Last Man Standing") came out, I made sure to get a copy. I thought it was great!! Really great title seeing how he is the last one around from the Sun Record days. It was Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash (singing rock-a-billy then), Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee. Most of the craziness he got away with was in or around Memphis. Maybe because of or in spite of this, was one of the reasons I started listening to his music. Last night the local PBS station had a special on the filming of "Last Man Standing". There were folks from Nora Jones, Kid Rock, Willy Nelson to Buddy Guy doing duets with him. The music was unbelievable!!! Of course he's slowed down a little (73 years old), but he's still got the moves on the piano and still got that voice. If you ever liked his music or even thought you did, try and catch the special if it comes to your area... As Ever, skillet

I'm pretty new to bass fishing and need advice.
You've already gotten some real good advice about the beginner articles and trying to get a combo you're comfortable with. Go to the forum that is specific to your area and you might pick up some ideas about popular baits. Also, WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet

Ideas on a good spinning reel
I've only had my Symetre for less than a year and fish mostly bait casters. Don't know how it's going to hold up for the long run but I really like it so far... As Ever, skillet

F@#%ing crooks
I have done a number of things I'm not real proud of in my life , but I was always the victim (and the perp). I can't for the life of me understand how someone can rationalize, then live with theirself, by hurting others. Hope that didn't come across as too goody-goody or naieve :-[... As Ever, skillet

My First Anniversary
Congratulations hookemdown!! I try (try being the key word here) to be a little conservative when the monkey hopes on my back. I just figure if I don't spend it on tackle, my wife will spend it on something for my Honey-Do list ... As Ever, skillet

Bass fishing is a Science!
I always go by the old saying "fools rush in where angels fear to tread". Usually a lot more fun ;D!!! You probably learn things better your way though :-/... As Ever, skillet

Newbie to site
Most of my fishing is done from the bank. The only baits I don't use often, that you would use from a boat, are diving crankbaits. They tend to get hung way too often ($$). WELCOME to the forums... As Ever, skillet

Zebco or other spincast reel
The only spincast I've ever used was a 33, and used them for a number of years. Haven't tried the new ones (hadn't heard of the omega, Thanks!). I've got 2 of the old ones that I'm going to try and make 1 good 1 out of. No better than I am at that kind of thing, ya'll wish me luck ;D... As Ever, skillet BTW When you had a fiberglass rod, you could hold the hook (VERY carefully) and use the bend in the rod to "slingshot" the bait under things...

Suprise in my Boot
The House Wrens go on a nest building frenzy every year about this time! Have to keep the garage doors closed to keep them out. They're like Dirt Daubers, stand still for a little bit and you get a nest in your....uhhh.....(for lack of a better word) armpit... As Ever, skillet

Fried Pickles
I really like fried pickles myself! Was at the mid-south Fair not too long ago and saw a stand where they were selling the fried Twinkies. Have you ever read the ingredients on Twinkies? Knowing I'm fixin' to eat it, I would rather read the side of a Potted Meat can and then eat it (gimme some saltines of course ;D). Twinkies have a shelf life approaching the infinite ! When "they" decide to drop the BIG bomb, after it's all over, the cockroaches that are left will have something to eat......Twinkies

Pistol Grip rods
I guess 95% of my fishing is from the bank in ponds and small lakes with lots of vegetation growing to the water's edge. The 5'6" and 6" pistol grips are all I own and love them ... As Ever, skillet
