  1. Most of my fishing is done from the bank, always used 5'6" (probably 30+ yrs.) pistol grips for baitcasting until last yearand got a 6'. Have a 6' for spinning. Real happy with shorter rods IMHO... As Ever, skillet
  2. Usually about twice a year with the amount of fishing I do... As Ever, skillet

  6. I mainly fish from the bank and really enjoy myself. Use anything you would from a boat except diving crankbaits because of the hang-up factor. Also WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  7. I have always really liked jig n pig. When I found Brush Hogs and Baby Brush Hogs they pretty much took my attention away from jigs. I use 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 oz weights and Trig them using my bait caster. Use Green Pumpkin and Watermelon Seed. Use them almost anywhere and especially in the nastiest, root infested wood pile I can find. I would call them my go to bait but I'm always using them ... As Ever, skillet

Thanks for looking Catt. I thought maybe someone put the "5 finger discount" on the pack I picked up. Is the Ribbit a pretty much straight retrieve or is it one of those that you let the fish tell you what they want? As Ever, skillet

Thanks so much for your help !! I looked at the different toads that BPS sold and liked the ribbits, I thought the feet would make more commotion in the water. I'll just try a plastic bead that I use as a float stopper in bream fishing... As Ever, skillet

  14. I'm with Raul on this one . I started bass fishing with Zebco 33, fiberglass rod and Mepps no. 3 bucktails with silver or brass blades... As Ever, skillet
  15. Raul, One of those pics looks like what we call June Bug, used to tie sewing thread to one of there legs and let them fly around when we were kids (must have been real bored). Never thought about them being fish bait. I've got a couple of fig trees and the June Bugs don't bother them, but birds and squirels like them about 2 days before they are really ripe >... The Bait Monkey has been beatin' me on the head to try one of the Toads. I was at BPS yesterday and bought a pack of Stanley Ribbits. When I got home I noticed on the back of the package it read "the bead in the bag improves the performanceof the ribbit. Rig it in-line above the nose of the frog. If you lose the bead, any glass bead from a Carolina rig will do." Someone had already "lost" the bead in my bag. Anyone of you fellas use the bead with ribbits and if so how does it affect the bait... As Ever, skillet
  19. For the money, Shimano Symetre... As Ever, skillet

  24. IMHO As slow as weightless baits (like senko) are supposed to be fished you're gonna have slack,no 2 ways about it. This is when line watching becomes more imporant than ever... As Ever, skillet
  25. another instance of you know you're "over the hill and past your prime" when you enjoy the comedy of long gone comics a lot more than the ones of today... As Ever, skillet
