t-rig vs splitshot & apology
I apologize my friends on an earlier post I asked for the difference between dropshot and t-rig, I really meant splitshot and t-rig. Didn't realize until just now when I looked at the post. & . What I meant to say was that I have tried splitshoting twice (splitshot 12" to 18" above hook) and ended up switching over to small worm (bullet) weight with same finesse worm and hook. Wasn't getting any strikes with splitshot and did with regular bullet weight. Was just wondering what the difference between the two was supposed to be. Also, never liked idea of weight being on one side of limb or other obstruction and bait on the other. Sorry for the confusion! I'll inflict myself on ya'll no longer ... As Ever, skillet

This is cool
Too cynical to say this is great without saying good advertising. Our licenses in TN are pretty high compared to other states but never minded because of where it's supposed to go... As Ever, skillet BTW or maybe his heart is in the right place and I'm just a

dropshot vs t-rig
Friends & Neighbors, I bought me some small hooks and weights to try drop shotting. I got out yesterday for a little while at a pond near me. This makes twice (maybe not enough?) I've tried this way to fool Mr. LM. Both times gave it a fair :-/amount of time. Got tired of no strikes and switched to t-rig with same finesse worm and small worm (bullet) weight. It made all the difference in the world. Lots (relative word here) of strikes and hook-ups. What is the BIG difference supposed to be? I always wondered about weight being on one side of limb or whatever and bait on other side and if the fish is not supposed to feel the weight because of distance from hook, I thought that was why you used a weight that slides. Like I said, maybe I haven't given a fair chance. Really confused here ... As Ever, skillet

dealing with line memory (*cough, P-Line CXX, cough*)
EATING CROW TIME !!! In an earlier reply I said I didn't know if "no memory in 12lb CXX was because of just spooling it on or what". It sure must have been that. Got out yesterday for a little while and the CXX could be renamed Shirley Temple for all the curls ;D! As someone said earlier it didn't affect how well it casted and it seemed as strong as all get out. The memory worked itself out after a while and still like the line a lot... As Ever, skillet

we should all get together and...
It would definitely have to be area by area. Have seen posts on get togethers but don't know the results. So durned far apart and spread out! Have ya'll ever noticed what a diverce area this forum covers. All the way from flat and gator infested lakes of Fla to highland resevoirs in the Smokies to almost Delta like W. TN ... Just when things are looking up...
They have said just "chance" of flurries here in the mid-south. It is supposed to be cold and nasty for the next 2 days >. Then (hopefully) supposed to get warmer again. The old "if you don't like the weather, give it half an hour, it'll change"... As Ever, skillet BTW seems like in last 10 or 15 years, Feb and Mar is when we get most of our worst weather

Antique Book price
Maybe it's just my age and may sound silly. Reading from a computer or anything along that line just can't compare to being able to hold a book and read from it. They are a treasure and special. To me a book like that is even that much more special. Imagine how many folks have read and taken such good care of it to come down to you. Have no earthly idea how much something like that is worth in money but it is priceless ... As Ever, skillet

BTW I did notice that when pulling the knot (palomar) down tight, it was harder to do. Anyone notice this or is it just me ??? As Ever, skillet

dealing with line memory (*cough, P-Line CXX, cough*)
Like you, I tried some CXX just several days ago. Always used 12lb. mono (Stren) before. Always thought it was strong enough for where I fished when I first spooled it on. Figured I'd stay with 12lb. When I spooled the CXX on I used the KVD line conditioner. I was really expecting some memory. It was stiffer so I thought Oh Boy here go but there was really NO memory. Don't know if it was the conditioner or that I spooled it on just the night before but hopefully ;)the CXX is that good (in 12lb)... As Ever, skillet

The General thread is a disaster!
I'll be the Devil'sAdvocate here, thought it was great when I signed up in the General Section and all the folks welcomed me like old friends! Really don't think it would be the same if in another section. This not meant in a condesending way (seriously) I can remember welcoming some of the folks that are griping . I think as large as we have gotten and probably will be getting larger, it's a fact of life, deal with it ;D... As Ever, skillet
