Fish Finder Recommendation For Minn Kota Universal Sonar 2
I am about to take delivery of my boat, and I upgraded the TM to a Minn Kota Terrova which has the built in Universal Sonar 2. I understand that it only has 2D capabilities. What would be the "bang for your buck" fish finder to match with it. I am thinking around $200 or so, but could spend more if there is value. I am a first time boat owner so talk to me like I am a novice (because I am). Thanks in advance for your input.

Economy Rods
Berkley Lightning Rod Shock and Daiwa Aird X are my two value rods of choice.

Mustad KVD Fastach Clips
I have them. I use them. My only complaint is that they are a hassle to use with split rings so I have started taking all of the split rings off of my lures in order to give it a true evaluation to decide if I want to make the lifestyle change. I haven’t completely decided yet. With regards to small poppers, I have yet to find anything that works well enough that I have stopped tying loop knots. I mostly use size 1 of both although I do have a pack of each in 2 that I haven’t gotten into yet.

The Whopper Plopper in choppy water.
Yes. The more choppy the larger the size I tend to use.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
Steelers vs. Eagles in a near toss up. I give a slight edge to Pittsburgh. Steelers should have a more mature secondary this year plus they drafted that rookie which should make them a mediocre secondary. I am in the camp that Todd Haley held the Steelers offense back. With him gone, that offense is going to be a juggernaut. Eagles should have Wentz back by week 1 or soon after. Their run game will improve with an entire preseason of Ajayi. Rams get an honorable mention. If they get Aaron Donald lock down and their receiving corp ironed out, I am betting next year will be their year.

Lures for beginners
A good 8-10 mono like Seige or Super Natural would be my choice of line. For lures, a whopper plopped, lipless crank, a square bill, and some small swim baits on jig heads would fill out a Plano box nicely for her. All she has to do is throw them out and reel them in.
- Any reason to buy a Whopper Plopper 75 if you already have the WP 110 and 90?

Is Pline fluorocarbon coated the same thing as actual fluorocarbon?
I like CX Premium line. It is a good all purpose line with a thinner diameter than mono or most other copoly lines. However I find it struggles with top water in the same way FC does with top water.

Favorite way to use a Trickworm?
I don’t always throw trick worms. But when I do, I prefer split shot rigging.

Do i have an unorthodox opinion on Killing fish (in general for all purposes)
I know too much about agro-farming and buy too much meat from the market to even consider allowing myself to judge people who legally harvest meat from other sources.

Kastking Perigee 2
Any second/third impressions yet? I am considering the casting rod with the M and MH tips.

Suggestions for a Baitcaster Beginner?
Fuego CT + eBay discount code which you might have to wait a few days for eBay to release. They seem to have an active code about 40% oh the time lately. I just bought another one for $53 with a 20% code.

When do you decide its not worth it to repair?
It takes a long time for me to throw out a rod or reel. I have a problem with hoarding.

What is your favorite and or most succesful Lure?
Other than a Senko, a Shower Blow in the morning does it for me the most.

Do you find that this sport is made difficult and expensive for no reason?
I still have the same answer though. If you have the money, and you are so inclined, pimp your ride.

Do you find that this sport is made difficult and expensive for no reason?
You have to consider the context of the OP question. He's questioning the merit Stren Original vs. Seagar Tatsu.

Do you find that this sport is made difficult and expensive for no reason?
No, the sport isn’t made anymore difficult. That part is up to the fish mostly, and they haven’t changed all that much. As to the expense, it has gone through the roof, but there is a reason. There are lots of people with more money than time, and you can’t take it all with you. Generally speaking, that’s a good thing. Like with many things technology has graced the sport of fishing, and it comes with a price tag. Also, if you have the means to have every lure in every color, and it makes you happy, good for you. On a side note, it is also good for me. It will inspire people to make more lures for you of which one or two might catch my eye. ?

Pollution...
I find myself wondering what is worse. One fish out of the bodies of water I fish or one diet soda.

Squarebills and the Wife

Are Active Carp Relevant?
I was out at the California Delta recently, and there were a bunch of carp jumping out of the water, clearing their gills so I understand from a bow fisherman. There were lots of active carp doing it. The bass bite happen to be poor on both occasions that I noticed this year. Is the presence of so many carp, active or otherwise, have an impact on bass fishing?

Can I throw a weighted wacky rig on a ML rod?
It should be fine. The VMC wacky jig are pretty light wire.

good cheap bait casting reals
Kastking + eBay discount code would fit those criteria.
-
What is your favorite finesse tactic?
Mojo rig is what I have had tied on this year so far with various zoom plastics.

braided line
15# Powerpro Spectra is my goto on spinning reals. 10# would work fine. The weight rating is deceiving on braid because the actual breaking strength of quality braid like Powerpro or 832 significantly exceed their rating on the box. If your eyes aren't so good like mine, go with the yellow stuff. The standard green color in line that thin is hard to see against green tinted water.
