Unplug your trailer lights?
Yall have been doing it for years, and the first time we accidentally left them in, they blew all our fuses. Just our luck. >

Unplug your trailer lights?
Surge brakes don't work in reverse do they? Recently we had an incident in which we didn't unplug our lights. One of the sealed fixtures had a leak. Blew all the fuses in the car as well. Had we not had spares we would have no lights, inside or out.

I think you need a smaller anchor. ;D Looks like it would flip your boat if you store it off center.- I won't be around as much...
You can still be on both. I am an active member of five forums. Four of which I visit numerous times each day. The fifth is a coastal one for when I go salt fishing.- Launching a bass boat - alone
Unplug your lights. The hot light hitting the cool water will blow a fuse or two - often the car lights as well. A couple of weeks ago we blew every light in the car. Dash lights as well. Had some spare fuses so we had taillights, but some of the dash lights didn't work.- Sinking structure......
Are there any restrictions on what can be sunk? Since we restore boats, we occasionally find one that is complete junk. Is it legal to sink it? There would be nothing but a fiberglass hull. No motor, gas tank or anything else that is valuable or dangerous.- My sweet Valentine :)
Which ones the better half? ;D- Wal-Mart
I got the 3x baits for a buck fifty last Wednesday. All they had were green punkin. Dad was going tonight and I asked him to get me a few more packs. He accidentally came out with a watermelon Chart tail. Also they were a 50 cents cheaper. He said they had a dark watermelon red or something. So apparantly, they have gotten in more stock, and have lowered the price. I have to go back. (says the baitmonkey sitting on my shoulder)- Your favorite on line tackle places- please list..
ebay.com- Ahh that smell.
Ya know, this should be included in the "what kind of fisherman are you" or "How badly are you affected" thread.- 20hp Johnson cover
I would check ebay or any place that sells old outboards or boats. Occasionally they come across a seized OB and they take off all sellable parts.- mounting fish
I have a mounted bass that my grandad mounted 30 or 40 some odd years ago. Recently, it has gone on a death run. Pieces of fin are peeling off. The eyes are falling out, and it is really losing its color. I would really recommend getting a replica, so that maybe your grandkids can inherit something that doesn't spit fins and eyes.- Question for small boat anglers
Usually we will have 3 rods. Never more than 4 from that boat. And, we will have one 3 tray tackle box and a small cooler. Just, while driving the rods get on the way, and we haven't found a good way to put them in.- Another option for electric only boat, not jon?
Why don't you start with something like this. It already has a deck, so you could go fishing as soon as you clamp on a trolling motor. Then, in the future, you could add in storage and stuff at your own pace. http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/index.cfm?boat=2281 But, if you do go get an old tracker, don't just throw away the motor. They have a ton of scrap value do to all the aluminum used. Take off the lower unit and sell it on ebay if it spins freely and take everything apart, sorting it between aluminum copper steel and plastics and such which are trash.- Question for small boat anglers
I have a 12 foot Vee and am having trouble storing rods. We usually have two people fishing in it, and the seats are to close together to put them underneath. How do ya'll do it?- Your #1 confidence bait- vote here
Definitely a T-rig. My first fish on a lure was a T-rig with a 5" curly tail purple worm. Freaken fish was a catfish though - a very bony small catfish in a lake with NO food source. They were desperate. My first bass on a lure was on a T-rig with a 4" red shad senko knockoff. Since then, T-rigs have been my go to baits.- Wal-Mart
I just got back with: a minn kota 20 ft depth temp gauge. 2 manns baby minuses. six bags of plastics. Only got one bag of 3x baits and flippin tubes. Wish I got all four of the green punkinseed 3x lizards, and wish I got all three bags of green punkin tubes. Most of our clearance stuff had already been bought.- How many lures do you own?
Just got back from Wallyworld. Their clearance stuff is just about gone. I had intended to get a good bit of the 3x baits, but they only had two different kinds. So I got one bag of green pumpkinseed lizards. I also got 5 other bags of other clearance baits. And I got 2 manns baby minus cranks. A minus 1 and a minus 4. I meant to get a minus 8, but forgot. On impulse, I got a Minn Kota temperature sensor. I need some more green pumpkinseed worms, but they didn't have any, clearance or not. I cannot afford much more, because I will be almost emptying my account with the fishfinder I am probably gonna buy from basspro05. I need a job! Danged old bait monkey.- Staple soft plastic colors
Green punkin' seed red shad junebug- How many lures do you own?
YESSS!! Actually I am a 13 yr. old fisherman that recently undertook the transition from panfish and trout up to bass. A couple of years ago, I inherited a lot of tackle from my grandad when he died. Thought I was living in heaven. As time went on, I learned how crappie some of the stuff was. I have been getting rid of a whole bunch of that stuff. All I have left of his are a couple cranks. Now, I have pretty much learned what I need and have been updating little by little. At this point I have: A large tackle box with 3 boxes and large compartment 11 jigs 3 spinners 3 buzzers close to twenty inline spinners 7 bags of plastics 5 topwaters 6 cranks 12 spools of line Plus some other stuff that I don't want to count 4 nice rods of my own. Plus 2 rods which are my dads main ones, and 5 that are for the rest of the family whenever they come with us. Since I recently started better bass fishing, I have a whole bunch of other stuff for trout and panfish. Close to 500 hooks, about 30 bobbers, 13 jars of that stupid powerbait stuff and enough other useless stuff. My dad grew up with mainly trout and panfish, so I (and he) are basicly learning this from sratch. I am in the market for a good supply of good lures, and scrounge ebay daily. If any of yall have any good ones to sell, I am ready. Preferably softbaits and spinners/buzzers.- Another option for electric only boat, not jon?
Name some of those lakes. I live in Cartersville and am looking for some more restricted HP lakes.- how cold is it???
We are freezing our butts off here. The high today was in the upper 50's, and the low was in the upper 40's. BRRRRRRRRR. These past two weeks are the coldest it has gotten all winter. Last Thursday we had a "snow day" from school. The little bit of slush in the gutters, when it was 35 degrees outside at 5 am, is enough to close the schools and many other businesses 'round here.- Replacing Boat Flooring
It is a tough job. You have to grind out the fiberglass around the edge of the floor. If you have ever ground fiberglass you know that it SUCKS. Then once you remove the floor, you may find stringer rot. It usually happens about the same time as the floor. Were you to find that, you might be able to sister another board to the damaged piece, but you may end up having to remove the whole interior and rip out the whole floor. You may find the foam to be waterlogged as well. Replacing that is not cheap, though I can not remember the exact price. The plywood is not cheap either. It is between 80 and 90 bucks a sheet. Then you have to reglass the floor, because in a glass boat, a lot of the strength comes from the floor. It takes a lot of work, but still can be fun. But, if you want to do it just to fix your boat, and not for the fun of it, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you do, make sure you still have another boat to fish from. We made that mistake, and it is not a good one to make.- Help from all of you!!
