  1. I've only thrown mine on a cranking stick, mind you a 25. It feels right at home with it for straight retrieving. Twitching or walk the dog is out of the question. I'm grabbing a Rat 40 after NDYakAngler's last video, probably toss it on a MHMF jig rod or fury 735.
  2. Please share more about his Swimbait, it doesn't get talked about much. It's not massive, and I like how the nose has some girth to it which should pair up nicey with a large CPS screw. What size hook are you using? How durable is the plastic?
  3. Finesse Jig Ned Rig Paddle Tail Swimbait Senko Pop Max
  4. great little reel for the money - I've got 5+ years on mine and she runs good. I haven't done any other maintenance other than just a bit of oil last summer. I might tear it down and give it a scrub
  5. the keeper is leaps and bounds better and the hook is bullet proof. Only ned head necessary.
  6. Up here, it's looking like we might get out the 2nd week of April
  7. Pick up a couple of packs of those Mustad Fastach Weights I think they start at 1/4oz and go up to 1oz and attach your own hook. Freedom tackle uses a similar attachment and have an arky, football and ball style heads.
  8. I followed the link, it directs to their homepage and no mention of the reel on their American site. Kind of lazy on TT's behalf.
  9. Switching back to spinning gear for jerkbaits, for me I think it's better casting distance, twitching/jerking is more controlled and comfortable on my wrist. M/F for 3/8oz or <100mm and MF/F for 1/2oz or >100mm.
  10. Anyone know when these are going on sale or where I can purchase one? My wife is very artistic and she would love this reel. I get that it's a limited run - I wonder if they're even making it over here. Anyone have the inside scoop?
  11. Had to get my skates sharpened for the weekend and ended up in the same shopping area as my local Cabela's. I did what I could to resist but the monkey crawled out from my kid's booster seat and before I knew it: Z-man Ticklerz - The Deal & Sprayed Grass Zman/Freedom Chatterbaits in 3/8oz & 1/2oz - Green Pumpkin Trokar Flipping Hooks (to complete the A-Jay rig)
  12. But, but, but.. the Bargain Cave. The Monkey and I bond back there over overstocked items, tungsten worm and drop shot weights immediately come to mind. My local Cabela's is known to have Calcutta 200Bs get closed out annually, friggin staff always beats me to the punch.
  13. We've gotten roughly 2.5' since yesterday afternoon and being a stones throw from Lake Simcoe. I get a ton of lake effect.
  14. @JediAmoeba That's a beauty haul MFer haha, I'm interested in how that milliken fishing rod performs. He's a good dude but his click bait titles are brutal. He's either quitting YT or fishing or YT is deleting his account. ??‍♂️
  15. That's awesome, I've been following them for a while. They don't usually ship up here but I got a BBB guy on IG to do me a solid. I'll be using them for pike opener when the water is still cooler.
  16. And they arrived! The spare tail is going on the ghost gill. Outta the box for full effect
  17. Steps: 1. Research BR + Interwebs - happiness 2. Brood about hard water / next time on water - sorrow 3. Purchase - lots of excitement 4. Wait - too much excitement 5. Delivery - extreme euphoria 6. "Latest Tackle Purchase Thread" Photo Op - peaking 7. Unpack baits - coming down 8. Organize and Store - ahh has cigarette 9. ????? - withdraw/depression 10. Monitor "Latest Tackle Purchase Thread"... get stupid ideas and go back to Step 1.
  18. I just got a Shimano Zodias spinning rod, and never handled the glass rod. Glass rods are pretty technique specific, what do you plan on using?
  19. I'm pretty sure Rapala rods are exclusive to Canada, so you won't get much info out of this forum. Before stepping up, wait for the ice and take it on the water. Cranking doesn't require a ton of sensitivity from the rod but can be made up running braid to a leader. I would give it a shot first, load up on some shallow and deep divers and find out if it works best for you. For lipless, chucking into grass, I think I would want a fast action rod.
  20. Straight from Black Dog Baits website. They just sold out of the Custom patterns. I was really hoping for Crappie.
  21. Just placed an order for 2 Shellcracker G2s in Mystery Black and Ghost Bluegill and a Lunker Punker G2 in Baby Bass. Grabbed a replacement tail just in case. I can't be posting in this thread again till ice out ha ha
  22. Matt Allen & Tim Little got you? They're like the Angel and Devil on the Monkey's shoulders.
  23. I've heard really good things about this bait. Is it the old make or the new model? KeepingItReelFishing on YT went in depth on it. Let me know how they work out for you.
  24. how can I watch this online... for free?
