Is this catchable bass?
Looks an awful lot like a school of walleye to me, at least that’s what they often are where I’m from, but could be darn near anything.

A good day fishing
Nice! Obviously you’re not in the northern half of the bassin territory! I’m not gonna have those beauty marks for another few months yet ?

2018 GEICO BASSMASTER CLASSIC
Wouldn’t make for good tv if there wasn’t a few “surprises”.

lures for times of the year?
That makes sense now, sometimes I read things wrong. Not the sharpest tool in the shed sometimes ?

lures for times of the year?
Not sure I can agree with this. One of my best mid summer dog days baits up here is a suspending jerkbait. Seems like a lot of guys only use it in the spring. I think no matter where you fish, it differs from lake to lake and even different parts of larger lakes. On Georgian Bay, where I fish a lot, there can be big differences in how a certain lure works from one side of the bay to the other, there’s a huge difference in the overall bottom composition and even rock type from one end to the other.

Hydrofoils, what’s the best ones out there
My 18’ Smokercraft is a wonderful boat, works awsome for everything I do with it. The only exception is she’s a bit sluggish to pop out of the water when I have 3 or 4 people in it, which is only about 10% of the time, and will porpoise a bit if there’s a lot of weight at the back ( humans). I run a Suzuki DF140 and the prop is set perfect for wot and top speed, so that’s not the issue. I’m looking at trying a hydrofoil for that little extra assistance, and just wondered what anyone else is using or has used in the past.

2018 GEICO BASSMASTER CLASSIC
Saturday Morning, cooking breakfast and watching the classic. Nothing better! ( except maybe fishing in it ?).

Bass diet and rats, mice
I’ve watched largemouth hammer a red squirrel that was swimming across a small cove through some pads, if there was ever a better sign to throw a red coloured frog, I don’t know what it was. I also caught about a 3lb smallie that absolutely crushed a big spinnerbait and he had a full sized squirrel in his throat already, talk about a hungry bass!

2018 GEICO BASSMASTER CLASSIC
Oh I’m sure he’ll be fine, seems like the kind of guy that'd be pretty cool and just to go do his thing. It’s gonna be fun to watch, that’s for sure.

2018 GEICO BASSMASTER CLASSIC
I’m pretty sure if that was me that had to do that on day one of the classic, I’d have all my hair pulled out and the carpet of the boat wore out by the time I was allowed to go, especially after watching everyone else blast off knowing they’re out there casting away the whole time ☹️.

Preferring mid range over high end reels

Back Up Camera
Don’t let it sit that long man, get out there and fish! ?

Back Up Camera
Cameras, meh. You’re not a real boat fisherman unless you’ve got at least one small dent in or around your licence plate!

How far do you guys go to fish?
Living in central Ontario, I have literally hundreds of lakes within an hour from my house, and that only counts the ones big enough to launch the big boat. I couldn't even begin to count the small spots where I can launch the small boat or fish from shore, including one beauty that’s about a long crankbait cast from my front door. I don’t even think it’d be possible to try them all in one lifetime. And then there’s the bay. My place is about 5 min. from several ramps on Georgian Bay. From the ramp, I could run 50’ and start casting or literally run as far as my boat will take me. And if I run maybe 15 min. from town, even on the busiest summer weekend, I’ll never see another boat all day. The only downside is this d**n ice, kinda slows down the casting for a few months ?.

Post a photo a day!
This is from last May, was pike fishing on Lake Muskoka and my wife spotted a shed antler on the shoreline. I went in with the trolling motor to grab it and right below in about 18” of water was the mate to it. I guess he was laying under the blown over tree and when he got up and shook his head, one went on land and the other fell on the ice, then sank in the spring.

Treble hook/hardware replacement
I’ve been using the short shank mustad kvd triple grips on my jerkbaits the last couple of years, and have noticed a huge increase in numbers of fish that stay hooked up. Same thing with squarebills.

Before you make your first cast ...
X2! I’ve lost a fish or two over the years because I forgot to check the drag, then when the first big hookset occurs, it’s a nice backlash and goodbye fish.

- new to trolling motor questions
I don’t see why it wouldn’t, works on my terrova and I’m sure it’ll work on pretty much any trolling motor out there.- Tracker 2018 Heritage/2019 Classic edition boat
Maybe that’s just the factory built entry spot for the transducer cable ?- Yellow perch and smallmouth.
This guy came on 14lb fluoro. I usually target them with heavier stuff, we grow em pretty big up here, but I have caught quite a few over 15lbs on some pretty light bass gear. Just gotta take your time and pray the lures not deep in their face ?- new to trolling motor questions
2nd vote for the ninja grass blade. Super easy to install, doesn’t stick up a bunch from the motor and works great!- Yellow perch and smallmouth.
Nothing wrong with a pike or two getting ahold of your perch coloured jerkbait ? - new to trolling motor questions
