Do You Have To Spend Big Bucks For An Accurate Scale?
If I add a fish gripper will this scale tare? Never mind... I read this thread on my phone last night. Reread it this morning and now can see the tare button in the photos.

Fishing for smallies in the channel at South Haven....
Anyone have advice? I was told to go the the channel by the grass area with rocks. It’s a few hundred yards down from the opening. There is no bite at all and was told it is very active. Any advice on time? Location? Here on vacation and hoping to hit it a few more times. Thank you !!!

What is your favorite Crappie jig head?
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Next time I'm at BPS I'll pick up a few packs and see what works. I know they sell one called Lindy Jig. I'll try those as well.

What is your favorite Crappie jig head?
Trying to get more into Crappie fishing as I had a blast catching them during a trip to Washington. Loaded up on some Bobby Garland shads, Lunker's grubs and BPS Crappie Max tubes. Now I need to buy some jig heads. Was going to buy the BPS Crappie Max jig heads in 1/16 and 1/8 but have had issues with other BPS jig hooks bending in the past. I read @TOXIC Crappie thread where he uses the Gamakatsu jig heads. Love Gamakatsu hooks and leaning towards picking some of those up, especially since I'm not concerned with matching the color of the jig head to the bait. But... is there a jig head that is somewhere in the middle? Strong sharp hook but not so expensive? Thanks in advance for any and all input!!

Heading up there next week. Thanks for the suggestions. Can't wait!!

What are your staple colors?
I've simplified soft plastic colors as I found my need to have every color that could work drove my OCD into overtime and it was a bit overwhelming. So I use: Junebug or Black & Blue variant, Green Pumpkin or Watermelon variant and White. With that said I have a few chartreuse colors as well.

Any michigan guys here
Hey Michigan folks... I'll be traveling West on 94 from Ann Arbor to Chicago. Looking for a few spots I can stop and fish on the way home. Will be traveling with my son and a few other father/sons. Any suggestions are highly appreciated. Only parameters being roughly 20 minute drive from 94 and we will obviously be fishing from the bank. Thanks!!!!

Livetarget Hollow Body Crawfish Jig: what do you guys think?
saw them at BPS a few weeks ago and picked one up. It looks great and worth a shot, imo.

Long Lake, WA
That is great to hear. Thanks so much for the info. Anything other than crankbaits in late June? @Glenn not sure if you saw my follow up to your question. Are you familiar with the lake I referenced? Would truly appreciate any of your thoughts. Thanks!!

Daiwa Fuego LT uneven line lay
Seriously?!? Is this an issue with all Fuego LTs? I just ordered one and really don't want to have to "fix" a brand new real. Additionally, if they know there is an issue why don't they fix it???? I've always used Shimanos but decided to give Daiwa a try. This may be a short lived experiment... EDIT: had to edit due to an abbreviation that isn't allowed.

The latest sale thread
Thanks for the heads up! Just bought a Daiwa Fuego LT for $67. Never bought a Daiwa before and was eyeing this one for my dedicated smallie rod. Can't wait to try it out!

How do you store your plastics
Be careful with those Zman TRDs. They don't play nice with other plastics...

Can my rod handle a 2oz swimbait?.....
Thanks for taking the time to look it up. It is, in fact, fast action. Unfortunately I only fish from the shore so don’t have the luxury of taking a rod for every application. Usually I only take 3 rods... spinning, MH baitcaster and either a crankbait rod or my HF which I use for flipping/pitching. So I try to make due with those combos. Sounds like a 2oz swimbaut could work but clearly not the ideal set up. I don’t plan on fishing these a ton but just wanted the ability to occasionally do so. Thanks to everyone who offered their thoughts.

Can my rod handle a 2oz swimbait?.....
So, I have a Fox River Lure & Rod 7'6" heavy casting rod. Lure rating is .25 - 1.5oz. I have no experience with larger swimbaits. Is a 2oz swimbait simply too heavy for this rod? I'm not sure if there is a difference between manufacturer specs and practical use. Thanks for any input you can offer.

Does that have dividers?

Long Lake, WA
Sorry, didn't realize that. Buddy said it's in Spokane and sometimes referred to as Lake Spokane as well.

Long Lake, WA
Anyone familiar with Long Lake in WA? Going to be there at the end of June. How’s the fishing? Any recommendations on what to use that time of year? Never fished the NW and really looking forward to it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Are big* bass smarter or just rare?
There was a great video linked on the front page a few months ago. It was of a biologist who takes care of public and private ponds/lakes. He discusses the odds of a bass ever reaching 10#s. He also discussed bass intelligence and I think he said a bass memory will only last 15 minutes or so. IMO, I think they are simply rare.

What color are your soft plastics?
Same philosophy as worms. Black/blue variants, green pumpkin variants and shad colors. If you're really into colors you can mix it up with trailers.
