  1. Out of state license and a trout stamp is all you need. Bull Shoals is tough to fish from the shore, but you can catch stocker trout below the dam all day long!
  2. Thank you! Big O had some nice things to say about the area, too.
  3. So, how is the winter fishing at Ray Roberts?

  8. Fishing report?
  9. Whoa! I bought the original rod & reel package directly from Ray Scott when they were first introduced. Without a doubt, the worst fishing gear I have ever purchased.
  10. Moving water oxygenates the river and stirs up all the nutrients in the basin. Baitfish are quicker moving downstream giving the predators little time to make their decision to strike or not. Current and structure are the dominate variables, not cover. If you are new to a lake, fish the boat ramps and the dam. Public areas that host tournament weigh-ins is a lay-up! Otherwise, I target points, especially primary points on the main lake. If there is a gravel bar extending out from the point, so much the better. Docks can be hit and miss, but seem to be more productive in the summer. Creek mouths are another favorite.
  11. 12' and weightless only. Any deeper and I want a weighted bait.
  12. Improve your luck by selecting more productive water. For me that is fishing the Tennessee River below the dam rather than Pickwick itself. I fish the lake a lot, but consider myself a river rat.
  13. Catching the biggest fish in a given lake or river. In Tennessee these are the targets: https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/2015/02/14/teacher-catches-record-largemouth/23433607/ https://noogatoday.6amcity.com/kentucky-tennessee-both-claim-world-record-fish/
