  1. Welcome aboard! Great pic! Are you doing a skin mount or replica? 8-)
  2. Be patient and check our Flea Market every day. You can pick up a Shimano Citica for under $100, no doubt about it! 8-)
  3. You have a few months...get it figured out and take a couple of days off! 8-)
  4. I've never been to a hurricane party. What time's dinner? On a serious note, that is a very nice offer. I hope everyone stays safe. -Kent
  5. Well, I haven't been following this thread, but after reading SuskyDude's post, I decided to check it out. Got to give SuskyDude five stars for his reply: to the point, polite and informative. 8-)
  6. Oil futures trade around the world 24/7, but 2:00 CDT is considered "The Close" for domestic futures trading. Today's close was -$2.11 @ $100.47. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  7. Hmm... A lot of guys on here have been fishing a number of brand names for decades, Raul comes to mind. Others have fished all the brands and have settled on one. Some of us have gained a little insight from other's experience and decided to fish brands with a reputation earned over a period of years or decades. I fish Shimano and encourage others to do the same. Every Shimano I have ever owned, going back to 1997, is still in use and is as good or better than it was new out of the box. I feel the same about several rod manufactures as well as lure and line companies. So yes, the reputation that is built by a "Brand Name" means everything to me. 8-)
  8. Nice fish, great pics! 8-)
  9. Man, consistantly catching 6 lb smallmouth is a feat in itself... CONGRATULATIONS! I wish we had those kind of numbers around here. The potential for a monster is always there, but big fish are still pretty rare and the few times we have been "on 'em" are days I will never forget! 8-)
  10. Yes, that's how oil prices are quoted. However, there are many other options and names: spot, NYM WTI (West Texas Intermediate), Brent crude, etc.). The numbers quoted in the news are generally the current forward contract. http://www.kommersant.com/p886938/hydrocarbon_production_and_sales/ p.s. We just broke through $101, down $1.84 @ $100.74 8-)
  11. The current contract (October delivery) is opening @ $101.10 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  12. Favorite lure class: jerkbaits Most productive over time: soft plastics This year: jigs #1 of all time for me: GYCB Senko 8-)
  13. Question for CJ: Russ asked about the topwater bite in early April. I said it should be in full swing. What do you think? 8-)
  14. Yeah, you have to handle various rods. "Fast Action" means the rod bends or loads in the upper 25-30% of the rod, but doesn't address whether the tip is soft or firm. As an example, my main soft plastics rod is also a St. Croix, Legend Elite ES70MF and it has a firm tip. By contrast, I have a G. Loomis PR844S rated Medium Power/ Fast Action. Well, it is a saltwater rod and should be rated MH in my opinion, but again the "Fast Action" is soft! Go figure... 8-)

    Welcome aboard! 8-)
  16. Wow! Stick Marsh/ Farm 13, a slice of paradise! 8-)
  17. Man, fishing jerkbaits is my favorite, too. We never have the numbers around here, sixty smallmouth is quite a day. Great post, keep 'em coming! 8-)
  18. Looks like you had a big time! Nice post and pics. 8-)
  19. Dude! You rock...lures, fish and video, but I do have one suggestion for you... Play a little Country Music and improve the "package" about 50%!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  20. The AC70MF is a good "all-around" rod for treble hook lures, not jigs or soft plastics. Although it is Fast Action, the tip is soft. Your want a firm tip for fishing soft plastics. 8-)
  21. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  22. Salute! Be safe soldier. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior
  23. Here's what you need and it's on sale, too: Lamiglas SR705R http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0037314120919a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products_liberal&sort=all&QueryText=sr705r&_D%3AhasJS=+&Go.y=11&Nty=1&hasJS=true&%2Fcabelas%2Fcommerce%2FCabelasCatalogNumberFinder.giftCertificateURL=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Ftemplates%2Fgiftcertificate%2Fgiftcertificate.jsp%3Fid%3D0005586990011a%26podId%3D0005586%26catalogCode%3DIB%26navAction%3Djump%26indexId%3D&_D%3A%2Fcabelas%2Fcommerce%2FCabelasCatalogNumberFinder.giftCertificateURL=+&N=0&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&Go.x=19 8-)
  24. That's a great deal! I have an AC66MF which I consider a great "all-around" rod for treble hook lures. I prefer the 6 1/2' version for working topwater and jerkbaits, but the 7' rod being offered is an excellent value. 8-)
  25. Well...not eveything...They still ask: Why are you so lazy? Are you stupid or something? You'r not wearing "that" are you? What makes "her" so hot? Why would anyone want to go fishing every weekend? 8-)
