  2. When treated wiht KVD Line & Lure Conditioner, the line management is greatly improved. Ultra Soft has significantly less memory and is specifically engineered for spinning tackle. I fish both Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft and find them to be superior lines. 8-)
  3. Try the line and see if you like it, that's all. I do and I highly recommend Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft. 8-)
  4. The answer is a stronger hook, but even light wire doesn't bend on the hook-set. Hooks straighten out under stress from fighting a fish or more often, hanging up. Unless you are fishing with a circle hook, reeling up slack is not a satisfactory substitute for setting the hook, regardless of the line you are using. :
  5. bwirth1999, Your credibility was lost when you initially stated these were "Same exact product." They are not and you haven't a clue as to the formulation of KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. Your conclusion that "Either way both are an excellent way to waste your money" is simply exacerbating.
  6. Hmm... You haven't been paying attention: S-H-I-M-A-N-0 :
  7. Your statement is incorrect. Oil is the base component for Reel Magic, water for KVD Line & Lure. The products have very few similarities.
  8. If oil falls below $105, prices could free fall through $100. Currently down $2.05 @ $105.84 ;D ;D ;D
  9. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  10. I think a soft tip is best for fishing all treble hook lures. My "all-around" rod for these lures is a St. Croix Avid AC66MF with a soft tip. This particular rig is especially effective working jerkbaits and topwater. As a dedicated light and shallow crankbait rod, I fish an Avid AC70MM. 8-)
  11. Most suggest applying it to a cloth towel (not paper) and running your line through it. However, I apply the conditioner as I spool after every ten cranks or so. You can also spray your big, storage spools before putting the line on your reel. The KVD needs to dry for awhile before being used, overnight is better. 8-)

  16. The question is "Which looks better?" Pictures are great, but there's nothing like having a mount that is built and painted which looks exactly like the best fish of your life. I hope everyone considers a replica over a real skin trophy. 8-)
  17. When a company consistantly produces high quality, dependable equipment that withstands the test of time, they create a "reputation". So, what's in a name? Perhaps the comfort of knowing that you will receive exactly what you pay for. 8-)
  18. Looks like a typical tournament bass to me: 1 1/2 - 2 lbs. 8-)
  19. Take a look at the Shimano CTE200GT, 5.0:1. 8-)
  20. Yep, KVD Line & Lure Conditioner is one of those rare products that actually lives up to the hype. I highly recommend it to you. 8-)
  21. I have had some great luck with the Flappin' Hog, too. I fish them as a jig trailer or on the Shak-E2. 8-)
  22. Here's a new article on our Home Page: http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/crankbait_basics.html 8-)
  23. Technological innovation and "breakthroughs" would be a bonus, but energy independence can be achieved using current technology. All that is required is a commitment! 8-)
  24. You have the combined strength of your personal commitment and the spirit encouraged by your friend. Your saddness will pass and fond memories will remain with you forever. Keep your head up and continue moving forward, you are a mentor to many and an example for all. -Kent
