  1. The purple smoke blends perfectly with stained water. In gin clear water, green is the ticket. 8-)
  2. That's what Fish Chris has, so if you're after bigger fish than those dinks he catches, you might want something heavier! :
  3. Man, I'm thinking a GYCB bait I don't know about? Big Kahuna = Kut-Tail Guess I won't need "something new" after all. One of my favs, too! 8-)
  4. Welcome aboard! One of our Florida members has a little bit of "luck" on Stick Marsh/ Farm *** these baits: Senko Swimming Senko 1/2 oz Rat-L-Trap Chug Bug 10" Worm http://www.imaginationbassin.com/Tackle.htm More importantly, George posts reports just about every week. He provides a lot of useful information targeting Florida bass. You can access his last fifty posts here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=0301111607010A620 8-)
  5. Geez................ Knock me over with a feather...I just can't believe this worked! 8-)
  6. Fish Chris probaly has the best collection of weighed big fish pictures, but earthworm77 put my favorite in his avatar: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=3430232539263E233C6666510 Now, that bass was 10 something, but if you were estimating the weight, I think the guesses would be considerably higher! 8-)
  7. There's just something about a Texan with a fly rod that doesn't seem right... :
  8. Yep, here's a sample: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1189587143/17#17 8-)
  9. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  10. I am a big fan of St. Croix rods, three Avids and two Legend Elite. The Triumph was TOTALLY embarassing when it first came out. The rods were assembled in China without ANY quality control. To add insult to injury, whoever was in charge of distributing them here, in the United States, must have NEVER inspected any of the rods! Maybe this has been addressed, but I still don't think the Triumph should not be a part of the St. Croix line-up. They have spent too many decades establishing a reputation for quality to be tarnished at the low end of the market.
  11. C'mon, that wasn't the point. I'm glad you say crankbaits and the next post will be jigs! My point was that each lure class offers the opportunity for an unlimited number of presentations. To "learn" a class of lures, fish nothing else. 8-)
  12. Those are some great pics! 8-)
  13. Good Times! Great post! Nice fish and pics! Congratulations! 8-)
  14. If Brent sees this thread, I'll bet some goodies will be coming your way! :
  15. Just want to consistantly catch some bass? Fish nothing but soft plastics: Fat Ika, Senko, Gitzit, Kut-Tail, Roboworm, Larew 7 1/2" Salty Ring Worm, Kreature, Swimming Senko, Laminated Lizard and some grubs. These are really more than you need, but the variety allows you to fish any depth and all techniques. Fast moving, slow or stopped, soft plastics will work anywhere, everytime. 8-)
  16. Congratulations! 8-)
  17. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewriskinndip.html 8-)
  18. If you can pop for Boga-Grip, they're the bomb! http://www.boga-grip.com/ Otherwise, this is the Rapala version: http://www.sportsauthority.com/sm-rapala-proguide-20lb-lock-n-weigh--pi-1761696.html 8-)
  19. WOW! Too cool. 8-)
  20. When a picture is posted, I feel like taking a guy's word for it if he says he weighed the fish. What difference does it make, anyhow? Pictures can understate or overstate the actual size of any fish. On the other hand, if someone asks,"How much do you think this weighs?", game on! p.s. When flechero and I fished together at Lake Fork we didn't weigh his big fish which he thought was a little shy of 5 lbs. Later we weighed my much smaller five and change! His fish was probably +/- 6 1/2 lbs. 8-)
  21. We have a lot of fans on this board...and I'm one! Regarding application: First, spray your filler spools. The conditioner will work its way through the spool. Next, using a rag is fine, but not necessary. As you respool simply spray the line every 10-15 cranks. The entire line will get coated. Finally, when you're finished, spray the spooled line one more time! Although KVD Line & Lure Conditioner will become bonded to the line is short order, applying this product the night before is probably better. 8-)
