  1. $2.49 for unleaded regular on November 8, 2008. I would expect gas to drop below $2.00 early next year, but maybe much sooner. 8-)
  2. Three are all you "need": http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196114229 8-)
  3. Blood Knot: http://www.animatedknots.com/bloodknot/index.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com 8-)
  4. You are going to notice it again at Dale Hollow. If you decide to spool the braid, try using a fluorocarbon leader, I'm sure that will help. 8-)
  5. Everything you fish during the day. I like fishing jerkbaits at night, but I don't fish much after dark. I'm sure other guys will post some suggestions. 8-)
  6. Get away from the bank and target big bass relating to structure in deep water, adjacent to deeper water. 8-)
  7. I'm not convinced the color of your line is all that important, but I still prefer something that blends with the water. "Smoke" blends well with stained water, green with clear water. Some whites and "clear" blend well, but not always (these are my least favorite). 8-)
  8. Welcome aboard! This might help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 Regarding line: Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 Baitcasting gear: Ultra Soft #12 8-)

That's a fine fish and a great pic. Congratulations! 8-)
  10. Moving this thread to "General" for more comments.
  11. Welcome aboard! I have lots of 10+ year old soft plastics that have been stored in their original bags that have kept just fine. As a matter-of-fact, they are all exactly the same as the day the packages were first opened. 8-)

    Welcome aboard! 8-)
  13. Best "boat" limit for me was in July, 2001. In round numbers, four guys had an eight fish limit which included six 20+ and two over 30 or a total of 180+. In addition to the eight fish limit, we probably caught another forty or so, 12-15lbs. Okay, lighten up...Stripers on the Tennessee River. For largemouth bass I suspect Fourbizz has recently posted something very close to the all-time record: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1207969662 8-)
  14. Welcome aboard! If you look through the first 50 pages of this section you will find a few suggestions...Otherwise, you need to specify a pricing point. Then everyone will respond with their favorite reel, which generally amounts to their favorite brand! So, to get the ball rolling, here's a $60 suggestion and in-depth review: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1208968823 8-)
  15. The general answer is cover and structure. Specifically, fish the points and you will pick up a few fish. 8-)
  16. I received a package of three last fall and fished them hard on the Tennessee River targeting smallmouth. It took some time to lose two of them, but when I finally did, the score was zero fish and no bites or strikes. I'm saving the third for "just the right situation". I hope you have better luck and post your review. 8-)
  17. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  18. Hey! Have you tried those "babt diaper yellow" I sent you?
  19. Welcome aboard! If you are going to fish bream, use a #2 Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hook. 8-)
  20. Mizmo 3 1/2" Kent's Classic (squash green/ baby diaper yellow) rigged on a 1/8 oz jig head or if the cover/structure is a problem, T-rigged with a 3/0 EWG Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hook. I fish all soft plastics on spinning tackle and #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft. 8-)
  21. Here is your answer: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1158577137 8-)

  24. Well, let's break this down a little further. Although the trees are technically "cover" they should be viewed as "structure" in this instance. When you look at wilderness, the trees and brush vary in height. So, surrounding the highest trees are trees half the size and 5-10' high brush covering the bottom. Although the absolute depth was 30' or more, the effective depth varied. We had a perfect scenario: structure associated with thick cover immediately adjacent to deeper water. We were fishing in coves that would normally be associated with mainpoints, all have access to the main lake or channel. 8-)
