  1. Google the area and find water you want to fish. Wear your uniform and knock on some doors. I think most landowners will be receptive to a fireman when they would not let Joe Smo on their property.
  2. If you don't like fishing live bait, then don't. For more than a decade I fished with my best friend and another regular guest. They fished live bait exclusively. I started out with artificials until they caught 20 smallmouth between them. Over this ten year plus period I sometimes caught two, but usually just one to their ten. Proof is in the pudding.
  3. Yes, as long as you are not affiliated with the company. This means having a financial interest or compensated in any way.

  8. Went right over my head...good one!
  9. What? Nearly every smallmouth I have ever caught jumped at least once and usually 2-3 times!
  10. The Mississippi Rig. Alabama Rig with 13 arms (12 on the outside, a longer one in the middle). We rig this with 1/4 oz swimbait heads, 3.25" Rage Swimmer outside, 4.75" inside. This is used mostly for stripers. My main fishing partner caught 19 to my 1 a couple of years ago. Most of his fish were 15-20 lbs, but he caught a 26 and my fish weighed 28 lbs.
  11. Never fished for/caught a musky or sturgeon.
  12. Bottom bait: Senko Moving bait: Rage Menace
  13. That is often the case on the Tennessee River.
  14. It's on the bucket list, maybe next spring. Can you recommend a guide and place to stay?
  15. I moved to Germantown in 1996 and have lived in my home for over twenty years. In addition to general bird feeders I have two hummingbird stations. Over time we have attracted nearly every bird species that reside or visit here, including the little birds. We have never seen this hummingbird before. p.s. This guy is flying solo.
  16. I would fish a Senko and look for somewhere else to fish.
  17. I still have a stash of GYCB Single Tail Grubs that are KILLER! I T-rig them weedless with a 3/0 offset worm hook and 1/4 o bullet weight.
  18. If you are new to fishing, measuring the drag is important. THEN you can develop a feel for the setting.
