  1. I store most of my lures in 3700 (Plano) boxes, but I bought a BPS tackle bag with 3600 series boxes to carry the lures I might actually use during a trip. It forces me to be more selective.
  2. Nope... I am a big fan of St. Croix rods. This series is an embarassment for the company.
  3. G.Loomis GLX MBR844C. My second choice would be an IMX MBR844C. I don't have a third choice. Any questions?
  4. Buy this rod outright or try to make a better deal: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1194464564/0#0
  5. Man, if your're not watching the CMA, you're missing the best program of the year! LBH: Wrong pick for our 10,000 member theme song: "Before He Cheats", Carrie Underwood, Single Of The Year! Muddy_Man" If you move to Atlanta, you'll get to discover the music you missed. King George: Man, what a year and what a performance. Miranda Lambert: How do you spell H-O-T? ________________________ Now it's a little later (8:00) and Carrie is just KNOCKING IT OUT OF THE PARK!
  6. Well... <----------------------------- 8-)
  7. Saltwater catfish. The first one I ever caught was especially small. I didn't know anything about them and didn't think anything about releasing the little fish. Well, as you might expect, I got stuck! I hurt a lot when it happened and then got MUCH worse.
  8. This rod is for sale in the Flea Market: You need to get on this, NOW! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1194464564/0#0

Hey Raul! I defer to you. I have never seen the actual bait, it just looked similar in the picture.

The Natural sent me a bag of Flappin' Hogs a couple of weeks ago (Thank You!). After fishing them a couple of times, I'm pretty sure this bait will become my predominate plastic trailer. I fish it on a 1/2 oz Micro Munch Tackle jig. If you like a BIG presentation, this might be just what you're looking for. On the otherhand, if it's a HUGE profile you're after, get yourself a bag of Double-Wide Beavers. Now we're talking SIZE!

Nope, but it looks VERY similar to the GYCB Flappin' Hog: http://***/cgi-bin/order/FH-07
  13. Hey farmpond, Welcome aboard!
  14. Welcome aboard!
  15. You might need to weigh them in a 5 gallon bucket of water to get to 9 lbs. :
  16. Scrub the reel seat down with a mild detergent and rinse with disinfectant. After a few days the rash will go away. :
  17. Nope, I have not seen them posted. The bargins seem to be "in-store only". As a matter-of-fact, last time I checked BPS wasn't even offering Avids! The $65 was posted by a member who found a limited selection at Dick's. I found mine at Sportsman's Warehouse in Memphis ($109) and they are now OUT. Reed's Family Outdoors Outfitters had them at 10% off, but that sale is over. However, I expect Reed's to have a BIG sale at some point, they seem to have a large inventory and when the Legend Elite was upgraded, they appeared to be THE LIQUIDATOR for St. Croix.
  18. Cabela's Guideware is on sale: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/common/search/search-results1.jsp?QueryText=guideware&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=guideware&noImage=0 Some guys swear by it...I'm one of those guys! 8-)
  19. Nice fish. I hope you get your 40+ soon. p.s. Avid, Below the dams on the Tennessee River, striper fishing is pretty strong. We don't have hundreds of striper fishermen, but most of those that target the fish, fish for striper exclusively. Here in the Mid South, both the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers hold HUGE stripers. In Arkansas, Ouachita, Beaver and Norfork Lakes are all noted for their striper populations.
  20. WOW! Catt, Thanks for posting such a detailed and informative thread. 8-)
  21. C'mon... Right now the BEST DEAL ON THE PLANET is the St. Croix Avid Series. Try to find the rod you want or be patient, there are lots of rods to be liquidated over the next couple of months. Prices have been reported as low as $65, I paid $109 for one. These are the best rods you can buy at the pricing point you are considering.

    Welcome aboard!
  23. If you would be interested in a more "general purpose" rod, consider the Avid AC66MF. This rod is rated Fast, but it has a soft tip. I can be used for treble hook lures, but it is also an outstanding stick for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and blades.
