  1. Next? Game four of the World Series? You guys got it ALL goin' on!
  2. The only reason you guys are "Texans" is because Tennessee sent down the Volunteers! 8-)
  3. Welcome aboard! I generally tie a Palomar Knot. I have no issues with this knot fishing Yo-Zuri Hybrid line.
  4. Catch another? :
  5. When you get tired of catching too many little fish, upsize to the 6" Senko.
  6. Your opinion is highly regarded. Thank you. This was a well written post highlighting a number of concerns for those considering trying the lure.
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. My partner was a tournament fisherman for a number of years, he has been fishing the Tennessee River for more than thirty. Now he does some guiding two or three days a week. If he would just listen, I could teach him how to fish! : I got lucky about six years ago finding a REAL fisherman and a partner that likes to fish as much or more than me. PURE LUCK! When we fish, it's not competative, it's about "fish in the boat." Most of the time we have "guests" and spend a lot of our time putting THEM on fish. I'm not talking about paying clients, just friends and business aquaintances. It's a blast for me, whether I'm the "catcher" or the "teacher." My partner has become my best friend. I let him run the boat and I ALWAYS fish in front of him (just trying to help). We both "net" for each other and compliment each other's fishing in every way. I even let him buy us a new boat and a house at the lake for me to stay in. Man, am I a friend or what? His wife and family are a mirror image of mine. Yep, I got lucky. p.s. Now this might surprise you: My buddy bought a Ranger boat (BayRanger 2180 with a Yamaha motor), fishes Shimano reels, G.Loomis rods, Yo-Zuri line and Gamakatsu hooks. See how much I have helped him! 8-)
  9. Having some luck with a 1/2 oz Micro Munch jig and GYCB Flippin' Hog, Double-Wide Beaver and GYCB Kreature trailer. A big presentation, fished slow.
  10. Hey Captain Cali! Good to hear from you. I'm glad you are safe.
  11. What's a "game mod?"
  12. Hmm... Alot of guys whose opinions I value HIGHLY recommend Owner hooks. Even though I am 100% satisfied with Gamakatsu, XPoints and VMC, I'll give Owners a shot sometime.
  13. Well, it depends a lot on where you are fishing a jig. A lot of VERY SUCCESSFUL jig guys do NOT trim the guard.
  14. Take it back for exchange and test the next one throughly in the store.

Starting Little Raul off with spinning tackle?
  16. I'm sure some of the bass are suspending at times, others following schools of baitfish all over the pond, but most of the "catchable" bass cruise around the perimeter. The bigger bass can sometimes be found at what might be considered traditional ambush points, but the vast majority of the bigger bass I catch are simply cruising a ledge which extends the entire length of the pond.
  17. There is no pattern on a pond. Bass MUST patrol the entire area searching for prey. That's not to say that certain spots aren't more productive than others, but the biggest fish in the water can be anywhere at anytime.
  18. I have some of the smaller version. They actually look pretty cool, especially the brown/orange matched up with a hair jig. However, although I have caught a couple of fish on the combo, it's nothing special. I feel like they just worked "okay" when anything else would have been just as good or better.
  19. Smallmouth are dangerous. Be careful if you snag one over 5 lbs, you might lose a hand! :
  20. Since your target is sometimes a ways out, I would choose a lure that you can cast maximum distance. Two lures I would suggest are the LC Pointer 128, NC Shell White or Original Tennessee Shad; and LC LV-Max500, Chartreuse Shad or Ghost Minnow.
