Whats a better day on the Water???? POLL
Wow! That would be impressive anywhere, but especially in Massachusetts. :
-
Pretty good day
Well, I don't own one or plan on buying one, but $300 ain't money to a lot of people. Democrat Presidential candidate John Edwards spends $400 on a haircut! If the choice was between spending that much money to have your ears lowered or own the lure, which would it be?

Shimano Coriolis 100
No. I owned two and gave a new one to LBH which I think he probably gave away to someone else. You would be MUCH better off with a Citca or buying a used reel from someone on our Flea Market when they pop up.

Whats a better day on the Water???? POLL
Laid-back...Okay, I'll buy that... Maybe that's why Catt has been able to AVERAGE 27 lb tournament sacks for the last THIRTY YEARS! :o Anyone else on this Forum want to make a similar claim? Me don't think so... 8-)

Fall fishing
#1 Suspending jerkbaits, especially targeting steeply sloped points. In low light, patrolling bass are usually VERY aggressive on and near this type of structure. #2 Rat-L-Trap type lures: Yo-Zuri RatlN' Vibe & Drum, Lucky Craft LV-300 & LV-500Max. #3 Deeper running lures: DD22, Fat Free Shad and LC Staysee.

Big Swimbaits
Well, I don't know what "the right size" is, but the Mattlures Baby Bass series is about right for me! 1.3 oz and it can be fished on a heavy bass rod, not necessarily requiring a dedicated swimbait rod. We don't have any 20 lb bass swimming around here, so this lure (seems) to fit the profile that interests some our bigger bass.

Big Swimbaits
Maybe you all should pick up a dozen of these and give 'em a try: http://www.***.com/descpageSWMJRAGO-JRTB.html

Whats a better day on the Water???? POLL
Unless you are fishing with George Welcome, Randall, Catt or a few other guys on the Forum, you're going to get skunked targeting "Big Fish Only". It's just part of the program. As Fish Chris might say, "Getting skunked just means you were one cast away from a monster!"

Graphite crankbait rods
For most treble hook lures (crankbaits, jerkbaits and topwater) I fish a couple of graphite rods: St. Croix Avid AC66MF which has a soft tip St. Croix Avid AC70MM which is a traditional graphite rod with Moderate Action Fenwick Techna AV AVS70MM, spinning tackle used mostly for night fishing For heavy lures and deep-diving baits, I prefer glass. Specifically, Lamiglas SR705R designed by Skeet Reese (2007 AOY) As an "all-around" treble hook rod, my recommendation is the AC66MF which you might find on sale for either side of $100 during the St. Croix liquidation sale at some retailers. (The company is introducing a new Avid series).

the pennants are in view the trash is flying 2007
Hey Muddy, The Rockies are red hot and now they wait eight days to play again. What kinda fix is in with MLB that playoffs get pushed back and the World Series competes with Halloweeen? I thought baseball was played by "the boys of summer"?

Flourocarbon Question?
There is no such thing. Some retail associates are better than others, but they are not professional "line spoolers".
-
Flourocarbon Question?
Four possibilities: 1. Bad spool: Highly unlikely. 2. Spooled incorrectly, counter-wound or just backwards. 3. Too heavy for the spinning reel. #8 is as thick as I would fish, #6 or #4 is MUCH more user-friendly. 4. Overspooled. Spinning reels should have at least 1/8th margin to the lip of the spool. Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft are bonded fluorocarbon/ nylon copolymer lines. They are not affected by cold temperatures. I have no problems with twists, tangles or memory. In fact, the line has virtually no memory in use.

basstrix knockoff
Well, you better send me a couple of prototypes to test out for you! : My question about Sassy Shad was just that, a question. I have fished them on occasion for freshwater striper with VERY LIMITED success. However, they appear similar in design, but perhaps not functionally. I haven't fished the Basstrix, I can't get a hold of one.

OK new subject-HOW"BOUT THEM BUZZBAITS LOL
I don't care what brands you're currently fishing. Try a Cavitron and you will either have a new favorite or another favorite. You will NOT be disappointed! 8-)

Some older fisherman just crack me up
I was wondering exactly how you would describe an Old Fart? :

What I like are: Good ol' biguns and big ol' gooduns! Go big or go home. I would rather catch nothin' than snag little fish.

Good Light Action rod
You might find a St. Croix Avid in the price range with liquidation sales going on at some retailers. I have an AS66MLF which I highly recommend.

basstrix knockoff
So, what is the fundamental difference in today's "hot" soft plastic "swimbaits" and old Sassy Shad? http://www.mistertwister.com/products/design/customize.php?product_familyid=568&familyname=Saltwater+Sassy+Shad
