  1. No doubt! The Broncos should be fined by the NFL for not showing up for a HOME game!
  2. Unabasser, Did you get up on the wrong side of bed? So far this morning every post of yours that I have read has lots of attitude. You got another "favorite" show? Good for you. I guess your post on this thread is just an example of what you described on the other thread in "Everything Else," pee and vinegar.
  3. No. Those are stocker trout, crappie or pan fishing reels.
  4. Two teams dominate: Indy and New England, the rest are just filler.
  5. Wassup guys? The greatest race of the year. Action, wrecks and strategy. Man, I haven't been a big Gordan fan, but Jeff Gordan is by far the GREATEST driver of this generation. What a race. Staying in back the whole time and NEVER a lap leader... Well, just one! 8-)
  6. WOW! Man, that was IT! If you are not watching the THE UNIT, you need too!
  7. C'mon... Give it a try. Man, it's Christmas. She has to sleep with you!
  8. Try a spool of Yo-Zuri Hybrid (#12) or Hybrid Ultra Soft (#6 for spinning tackle). You will not be disappointed and you will NEVER go back to Big Game, XT or XL.
  9. The winner is based on the four day total weight. I would guess 65 lbs, but a predicted cold front and low water could drop the winning weight into the low 50's.
  10. Welcome aboard! "Go BIG or go home!"
  11. I am not afflicted... The only baits/ lures I have bought this year were on sale or were a new class of lure (swimmbaits, two types of soft platics, jigs and trailers and a few Yo-Zuri Ratl'N Vibes). Well, then I bought a couple of reels, but they're "pre-loved" and that "required" a new rod (which was one of the Avids on sale)...So maybe I still NEED another rod... But as far as I'm concerned, none of that counts... I have no addiction and can stop anytime... I am not afflicted. The Bait Monkey does not influence me. I am not afflicted...I am not addicted... :
  12. It seems to me that both teams played terribly, but you might think almost any other team in the league could have beatten The Boys last night. :
  13. I'm with Raul. Keep them in their original bag and don't add anything. Most plastics will keep indefinitely.
  14. Welcome aboard! I'm sure you will get several suggestions as the day goes on. We generally have more activity in the evening, so be sure to recheck your thread tomorrow for suggestions. However, if you want to jump-start your new hobby, hire a fishing guide for a day or two. You'll need the right guy, someone who is willing to work with you and really teach you a few things, but they are out there. Here is another thread you might find helpful: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1182371999
  15. In-Fisherman and Gary Yamamoto's Insde Line.
  16. Welcome aboard!
  17. Maybe there is no such thing as an "all-around" combination, but this is pretty close: 6 1/2' or 7' Medium Power/ Fast Action, spinning or casting.
  18. Recently I have had some great luck using the GYCB Kreature. Otherwise, I have been using the 3 1/2" Uncle Josh pork traier (blue), GYCB Fat Baby Craw and am experimenting with the Reaction Innovations Double Wide Beaver. I am fishing these trailers on a Micro Munch Tackle 1/2 oz jig, either black or black & blue.
  19. Congratulations! Great post! 8-)
  20. Well, a couple of things: The smallmouth, or at least some of them are always there. That's where they live! If you fish the shiners you will catch some bass, but lures will work, too. If you are fishing from shore I would stick to soft plastics (hard baits will hang up and there is usually no way to retrieve them). Some specific suggestions are: Fat Ika, 3 1/2" tube, lizard, Kreature, 5" Senko, Senko Swimbait and the all time classic, a single tail grub. If you are fishing from a boat, I HIGHLY recommend jerkbaits: Lucky Craft Pointer 100, Rapala Husky Jerk and X-Rap or Smithwick Rogue. Regarding clothing, those guys on tour are never camouflaged! Also, use lighter line or fluorocarbon. Line diameter and visibility can make a SIGNIFICANT difference.
  21. My take is location, location, location! I do prefer big baits/ big lures and fishing for THE bite. As Fish Chris has often stated, "getting skunked is expected", it's just part of the program. To consistantly catch big fish, you must target big fish. It's not luck, it's persistence and a plan.
  22. I fish both. I have a strong preference of one over the other depending on technique. Generally, power fishing = baitcasting gear; finesse = spinning tackle. However, as others have already stated, I'm sure I could do all of my fishing with either type of gear.
  23. I was at Pickwick last weekend with over 200 contestants in a "local" tournament and most of the FLW guys prefishing! Man, I was glad to be below the action, on the river. The FLW is there in force: http://www.flwoutdoors.com/article.cfm?id=146540
  24. Hmm... "Catching bass is easy, the challenge is finding them!" Some guy named Clunn said that, but what does he know about bass fishing?
